GeeLOL sucks, so does $hitney
Simple question, after Roughead & Franklin (assuming they go #1 & #2) who will be our 3rd leading goalkicker in 2010?

I've listed all the relevant choices in the poll.

Looking forward to hearing reasons why you voted the way you did.
I've a feeling the race for #3 in 2010 could be a lot more open than some of us might imagine. (let's hope so, a larger spread of goalkickers is always good thing)

I think this man will take Willo's spot as the #3 goalkicker. He looked good in the forward line at the end of the year, especially in the game against Essendon. I'm tipping him to step it up another notch in 2010.

Dowler is probably the man most likely, though he has not proved himself against quality opposition yet.
Beating Pears and Fletcher (for a half a game) in the twilight of his career puts him a long way from being a consistent goalkicker.

Have to admit his finishing in that game was supurb. Far better than some of the (4?) cheap goals he snaffled in the previous match.

So #3 goalkicker is a toss up between him and Rioli.

I reckon it'll be Osbourne if he can stay injury free (was he injured this year? I think he was I just can't place what would've happened). I also think if Young plays the whole season he can get 20+ goals.

I reckon Hodge if he plays forward, I remember him kicking 6 against the Footscray in 2007 and he looked the goods as a forward.

Hopefully Dowler can continue the form he showed, will get a shot at it with Willo at Essendon - so he got my vote. 35-40 goals in 2010.

Hodge / Rioli / Burgoyne will all kick around 20 along with Ossie.

Depends where Brownie plays.

It would be fantastic if Thorp could challenge here, he has it in him.

Sorry, I should have mentioned it before - it's a good question and a good poll... mainly due to the many options, hopefully we have this many goalkickers chipping in with 15-20 plus goals.

makes us very hard to stop.

With Williams OUT and Burgoyne IN, I'm predicting Rioli will spend more time in the forward 50 in 2010 (break out as dominate mid of the comp in 2011). So Rioli for me.

Think garry moss could be added to that list as well, if retained on our list. Very smart around goals

I'm sure Moss won't be rolled.

There's a certain ex-player radio commentator who has raved about Moss on air. Actually went so far as to say he was one of Hawthorn's more important players in a match preview. That's obviously up for debate.

But, I was asking him about this before the grand final and said he thought Moss had an important role to play at Hawthorn next season.

Moss' first half of the season was particularly commendable. He'd had a horrid time at Hawthorn with injuries etc, but he didn't give up and, by all accounts, was an inspiration to all around him with the way he fought back. Not to mention his leadership.

So I think if he gets a decent pre-season and has a little luck with injury, we will see Moss take the next step as a player. And that's great for Hawthorn.

I dont see a spot for Dowler up forward if both Roughy & Buddy are fit.

Isnt this the reason Boyle couldnt crack a game? (obviously in 2008, not 2009)

Too top heavy with all 3 up forward in my view...thoughts?

That COULD happen if Boyle hadn't retired

I would love sizzling rioli to dominate goals next year. I'm sure half of them would me GOTY contenders too :)

I think that was more to that Buddy, Rough, Willo and Boyle couldn't fit.

That and injuries.

From what I understand of the game plan, it actually works on having three 'target' type forwards.

Happy Hawks, pretty ambitious putting Thorp down....

Love it if you were right...:thumbsu:

Dowler's my pick though.

yeah i hear you a bit ambitious. i've been a big fan of his since seeing him play at campbell town in tassie when he was just a kid against men. i know lots of people here have written the guy off and until recently his attitude hasn't been too good. need to remember he is still 21, never had to work for it until now. from what i have heard he is on the right track. so long as he has a good run with injury, which he is over due for, I think he is going to show everyone why he was taken a pick 6.

Think Beau D will be good for anywhere up to 35-40 goals next season. He'll get the 3rd tall defender once Buddy & Super Rough have taken the guns on. The key is supply if we give him a few opportunities each week he's good for 2 or 3 goals. Is a brilliant set shot.
Delicious, Hodgey, Ozzy & Burger will hopefully pop up for 20 or more also.

Having the advantage of being able to kick goals out of your arse cannot be understated. So Cyril got my vote. Would be nice to see a battle royale for the title. I can smell 2010.
