Seems the mighty pies have timed their run to absolute centimeter perfect perfection.

Dogs, Cats and Saints will all slide a little.

Carlton are average with no key forward or dominate backs.

Bombers are bottom 4?

Ds are too young to challenge and lack size strength and the fitness base?

North don't have enough money to keep washing clothes and pay the bills during September?

Could it be Freo with the circus freak, but can they win it on the MCG?

Sydney has not beaten the pies since Carlton got done cheating?

Gold Coast? Too young, no set game plan unfamiliar list.

Brisbane is run by a lunatic who is suffering some form of psychosis.

West Coast, yeh naa.

Adelaide just cleaned out 60,000 years of experience and have the shitiest looking jumper in the AFL.

Port Power have the Chad? is the Chad enough?

Who on earth has the talent to compete with the pies when they're on song?

Freo makes a bit of a convincing arguement. Geelong can still do it, Saints will probs be top 4, but will fail again. Bulldogs may do better being able to field 22 players (no brad johnson), but with no Aker, idk if they can. There are always bolters, and sliders. Sydeny could very well improve a lot.

You have to finish top four to challenge... the hawks are too arrogant to admit they have issues. All the while they just believe everyone is scared of them, when in fact they have just been dismissed.

we do have issues but on top of our game we can match it with anyone.

Forgot about the hawks.

But they don't have Dew or Crawf, no spiritual leaders. Hawks have never recovered losing Shane, such a great man that set the tempo, fat little keg legs Sammy Mitch has sat back and smashed too many hotdogs. And Cyril has been workout out, so has Elvis Buddy Franks and the bigmacs. And thats not even mentioning the apeman Roughead he has evolved into a spud.

From what I heard on the radio we spent about the same as the Bombers did on the football department, not sure how accurate that is. I doubt we pay the same amount in salary cap but Essendon are overpaying their players based on this years performance.

Well if the C'wood players display the same amount of disrepect, smart arse arrogance and ignorance for the opposition you have shown .... the Pies will be well and truly be another 'one hit wonder'.

Fortunately for the OP et al, the playing group are a lot smarter than some of their bogan fans and will pay the other teams their due respect, and will probably be up for at least another, if not two flags over the next 3-4 years.

However, enjoy it while it lasts, as ongoing success is guaranteed to no one.

Just because that is Hawthorn's experience does not mean it will be Collingwood's. Over-confidence or lack of desire after achieving the top prize may effect the chances of Collingwood but if they are in the top four again next season then I think they will be in the top two or three (it was three top teams this season, sometimes it is two.) Whoever those other teams are will definitely challenge or be favourites to beat Collingwood by the end of the season. We were not unbeatable in this finals series if you look at the first GF, it just appears that way after the second GF. If you look through the predictions thread last season, Collingwood were consistently rated as finishing 6th to 10th - 6th if you were honest with a minor negative skew towards the Magpies or 10th if you really hate Collingwood and would prefer to see them miss finals but not get good draft picks :) Sydney were rarely mentioned in the top 8 and if someone did they were denigrated for smoking too much (or maybe injecting).

Collingwood should finish in the top four and be one of the favourites for the flag but it will not be a one horse race as the other teams in the top four gain confidence from their position and winning most weeks. Geelong and St Kilda could still be up there but if their lists are basically unchanged then I think the Magpies will be heavy favourites. Hawthorn/Sydney/Freo/WB (listed in order in my opinion) could make that jump into the elite teams (sorry for saying that word) and will seriously challenge for the flag and could go into the finals as flag favourites. Carlton have good players but they have too many holes (wanting players to play forward and back at the same time) so the ball really has to bounce in their favour for them to be truly competitive. Then there are the dark horses who could just get on a roll and gain confidence from this that makes them nearly unstoppable eg North, Adelaide, Melbourne, Essendon or Richmond or even the unknown quantity of the Gold Coast. You would expect any of these to be overawed in a finals series though.

Premiership hangovers are far more common than dynasties. Please stop making threads that can be bumped in 12 months to make us all look like dicks and just enjoy the premiership.

Even the invincible Geelong couldn't back up two years in a row, and challengers can come from unlikely places.
