Sholl is best 22 every week I'm happily giving him a contract and wouldn't trade him.

Berry is the one on the trade table for me, he's an AFL level footballer sure but we have Crouch and Laird already that are similar to him for him to stay one of the two older guys need to leave or be repositioned

I wouldn't go far to say Sholl is best 22 every week....
He is good player.... Fringe
A great depth player

I just don't find him strong enough over the ball and have queries over how he can stand up in a GF.

I think he’s the exact type of player that we should be looking to upgrade while he has potentially some value, similar to MacAdam.

We have other options to play on the wings who can hopefully be an upgrade on Sholl.

He’s had a good year this year no doubt, but we need to be better than players like him being first choice.

1. Brayden Cook - yes
2. Brodie Smith - no (although I suspect he has already hit his contract trigger and we are stuck with him)
3. Chris Burgess - no
4. Elliot Himmelberg - maybe if Tex retires, but likely gone anyway.
5. Hugh Bond -no
6. James Borlase - yes, solid depth
7. Lachie Gollant - yes (it's a toss of the coin between him and Burgess)
8. Lachy Sholl - yes (but if a juicy trade offer comes, it's definitely worth considering)
9. Ned McHenry - HELL NO!
10. Patrick Parnell - no
11. Sam Berry - yes
12. Taylor Walker - really depends on how he finishes the season. Got to be tempting to hang up the spurs.
13. Will Hamill - yes

We didn't upgrade McAdam into anything or anyone

1. Brayden Cook - Yes
2. Brodie Smith - No, been a great player over the journey but he's not up to the standard anymore. I suspect the clause has been triggered and he'll get another year though.
3. Chris Burgess - No
4. Elliot Himmelberg - Probably off to the Giants, otherwise, yes for one year. Need break glass big men.
5. Hugh Bond - Has been better in the SANFL but has he done enough to warrant another contract? Possibly a delist and re-rookie.
6. James Borlase - Yes, not the worst depth getting around
7. Lochie Gollant - Depends on Berg and Burgess. If both go, then yes for depth, otherwise no.
8. Lochie Scholl - Yes
9. Ned McHenry - No
10. Patrick Parnell - No
11. Sam Berry - Yes
12. Taylor Walker - Will go out on his terms. One more year I reckon.
13. Will Hamill - Yes

This is hard without knowing the list spots available.

But for me...
1. Brayden Cook - Yes
2. Brodie Smith - No...delist
3. Chris Burgess - No...delist
4. Elliot Himmelberg - Yes (In the short term we need the ruck backup)
5. Hugh Bond - Not enough info yet. Is he our future specialist tagger?
6. James Borlase - Yes
7. Lochie Gollant - No... Trade
8. Lochie Scholl - No...Trade
9. Ned McHenry - No
10. Patrick Parnell - No
11. Sam Berry - No (harsh call I know) ...Trade (unless there's deeper problems with Edwards and/or Pedlar)
12. Taylor Walker - Yes
13. Will Hamill - Yes (but dependent on Milera's future)

I honestly don't get the hate for Berry. Maybe I watch a different game to the everyone else.

Yep, he has some flaws in his game. But at least he has a fair dinkum crack and seems the only one in our midfield capable of negotiating through heavy traffic.

Will only get better IMHO. Definitely one to keep for mine.

I have no hate for Berry whatsoever.

The reason I said to trade him is because I think his ceiling is lower than a premiership midfielder should be. Additionally, we have Crouch for at least one more year who will probably be selected in front of him if both available. Crouch isn't the answer either but I feel one more year is all we need to find a better midfield mix. Taylor, Dowling, Soligo, Max? Draftee? Trade recruit? Add Rankine and Dawson and I think Sam Berry could be shut out.

I'd be happy to give him his freedom to find greener pastures. Might be worth something in a trade value sense as well.

Just thoughts...

For me:

Himmelberg - will leave as a RFA
Burgess/Gollant - keep one as back up, move the other on
Ned, Parnell - delist
Borlase, Berry, Cook, Tex, Borlase, Bond - keep
Sholl, Hamill - trade

Well that was wrong of me

Can I say if the Berry whispers are true I would keep him

That gives us about six list spots.

I'd trade for a ruckman, grab a free agent like Cumming, trade picks around so we have two selections in the top 20, then Welsh, then a Hamish special.

So your happy to go in with even a less experienced list by trading out net 1 player?

Burgess needs to be delisted as imo not up to AFL standard. I would keep Gollant over Burgess.

I would pay out Smith if he has hit a trigger.
