Having lived in the country for most of my life and not being able to go to the footy live each week, it's hard to get a first hand impression of most player's debuts.

However, two particular debuts stand out for me:

Chris Judd: Round 2 Coll V WCE at MCG. Had 19 possessions, kicked a goal and laid 4 tackles. I remember thinking at the time that this boy has the goods.

Sav Rocca: I can't remember what round it was, but it was against Footscray at the MCG in 1992. He kicked 4 goals and took some really strong marks.

Brad Fisher- it was against collingwood in 2003. It was also Brett Ratten's 250th game. I was at the president's dinner before the game and i remember Mick Martyn was there, as well as Eddie McGuire who was on crutches.

for the crows pretty much any player who's made their debut at home, but the standout was McLeod. Wasnt all out on his first game but with a few low posession games under his belt it was unbeleivable to see him dribble through that winning goal with seconds left against Hawthorn in r9 1995.

Saw Matthew Richardson and Deledio debut.

Both impacted on me instantly as superstars.

Cam Bruce also looked a gun when he debuted. Just the way he moved made me sit up and take notice.

i might be wrong but did bruce debut against the kangaroos in rd 1 against the Kanagaroos in about 2000. i remember him and green tore the kangaroos to shreds.

When you go nearly every week you see quite a few debut's but memorable ones are the one's that stick in your mind.
1989 Steve Tingay snaps the winning goal in Round 1.

It wasn't quite his first game, but after seeing Aaron Davey's first game in Melbourne - playing the Eagles at Docklands in a Wizard Cup 2nd round match, you really sat up and took notice.

I also saw Paul Hopgood's - which was slightly less exciting...but the bloke did kick a goal with one of his first kicks from memory.

It hasn't gone well for him since then, but I remember Mark McGough's debut against Hawthorn - 22 touches, 2 goals - He looked like a future superstar.

The next week he won the Anzac Medal, and since then he's done virtually nothing.

Exactly, having missed four games since 1973 ,I`ve seen a few debut`s. Lloyds sticks in the memory , first minute of play and he soccers one through , crowd go beserk an Essendon bloke near me goes " calm down calm down, he`s not going to be that good"

Seen a stack of Collingwood debuts. A few of the memorable ones:

Gordon Sumner was given BOG by Peter McKenna and promptly proclaimed the Brownlow Medalist by same on WOS. Simon Taylor and Damien Houlihan were also hyped debuts that went nowhere. Daicos looked all class as he obviously was. At least his career went somewhere.

Graeme Moss had in excess of 20 each of kicks, handballs and marks in his first game against the Tiges in 1973. Sheeds kicked the winner for the Tiges to get up by 2 points.

Andrew Welsh for the bombers stands out. I remember his first possession was running backwards to take a mark in the pack and thought 'how gutsy is this bloke!' Has turned out quite well so far.

To many to list, most memerable one would be Kennely, He came on and scored a goal. Almost every player on the swans team went over to him to give him a high 5, in the same match i think it was Sundqvist also scored in his debut game and the same thing happened.
