Becase 2 from 10 doesnt prevent the implementations from the inquiry from succeeding.
The average Victorian doesnt say Richmond won 3 flags but i wish it was NM, Carlton and Essendon with 1 each, theyre happy with the cup in Victoria, thats what matters, but they may publicly suggest otherwise.
God no
In 2017, were you hoping Adelaide won the grand final?

Generally speaking, give me a non-Victorian premier over a Victorian one any day.

Now thats a melt, thankfully you have 3 recent flags or your attitude might be very different.
No my attitude hasn't changed at all ...when Richmond weren't winning flags it wasn't someone else's fault it was the organisation that is Richmond's fault ...and eventually they set about fixing it and that's the reality of it ..it's simple ...port need to fix this themselves ...not blame Victoria ...not blame anyone else but themselves....they had a two week break ...they had home ground advantage ...they played a team that didn't have a week's break ...that has been on the road for weeks ...port had an overwhelmingly partisan crowd on there side and there opponent wasn't even barely able to train leading into the match ....and you can't seem to accept that ports failure last night lands squarely at there own feet ...stop blaming everyone else for your failures.... because God help you if the club actually thinks like you do ... you'll never win anything ...a victims mindset never leads to success ...oh and for the record it's not a melt ..think of it more as a reality check for you

All South Australian, Western Australian and NSW clubs have made Grand Finals over the last 15 years. You can’t just expect them to always be top 4 every year.
And Vic clubs made GF's in 01,02 and 03 but they still held an inquiry into Vic football and swung the pendulum overnight.
When you consider it using your logic of GF appearances, the AFL held an inquiry after only 3 years of no Vic participation, you guys had that covered after 08,09,10,11.

yep, i was happy for your fans dont get me wrong, you've copped a lot but id still rather see the cup here than there.

6/10 Victorian teams missed the finals

4/8 non-Victorian teams missed the finals

Some of the better teams came from outside Victoria, but not the very best teams. Play on.

Then why didnt Victorian football 'fix itself'?
Why the inquiry by a so called governing body of a 'National Competition'?

Yep and one of those Vic clubs continually makes top 4 due to its unmatched HGA and fails in finals.

Without that HGA or Covid hubs equalising the ledger WC would have made the 8 and the first week and subsequent weeks of finals would have looked very different.

If's, butt's.

Do i, no one ever held an inquiry into why were no good, why didnt the AFL just continue letting Vic clubs fail, or should we all fail because you lot did.
Ok, smartarse, you used Richmond as your example.

You want an inquiry.

Well guess what, Richmond held their own inquiry, they took it upon them selves to see what they were doing wrong, they now have over 100k members and 3 flags, maybe take a leaf from their book, stop crying foul, get off your arses and hold your own.

Yeah Port holding an internal review = Governing body inquiry and overhaul of an entire league with benefits to one state in particular.

But i do note your anxiety at being called on it.

From 1997-2006 only two flags were won by Vic teams. Those numbers are skewed by Adelaide and Brisbane winning five of those flags.

From 2007-2021 only two flags were won by Vic teams. Those numbers are skewed by three clubs (Geelong, Hawthorn and Richmond) won 10 of those flags.

It’s swings and roundabouts, from 2012-2019 there was a non-Vic club in every grand final, few results go their way and the numbers aren’t so uneven.

In terms of Victoria having an advantage they probably always will in that the bulk of the talent pool comes from there and frankly good on them for doing so.

I do think that the AFL needs to look at if having ten teams in one state, where clubs like Richmond and Collingwood are capable of drawing huge crowds while clubs like North struggle is sustainable for the next 50 or so years.

I also think that non Vic teams deserve a better share of marquee games.

However neither factors are linked to on field performance that much I don’t think.

Oh I see, you don't want to do any work, you just want everything handed to you.

Like now, all you do is cry about how unkind the AFL are.

People like you make me laugh, and there are more on here, you cry about everything, but keep coming back, day after day.

Just follow another sport, simple.

Obviously a bogus account but i'll entertain it anyway.

Why cherry pick those years, lets take it back to your inception.
Between 91 and 06 Vics won 6, non vics won 8 that was almost equal considering the way WC, Adelaide and Brisbane were setup, without those concessions it would look very different.
07 to 20, 12-2 from 14 to Vic clubs with only a kick separating a 13th, a very different result

What would you do If they folded Carlton and replaced them with Hobart?

I think that’s what makes it such a tricky situation. But if you were starting a league from scratch you’d think 6-8 vic teams would be a better means of capitalising on the huge Vic market, you’d probably get crowds of 40000+ every week unlike where we are now.

Yep, WC should never have started up, they should have waited, even then, Adelaide should have waited, but Port stuffed that up also.
