On face value it would seem something fishy with the letters. Perhaps some behaviours havn't been properly investigated and justice for those behavior may not have been served - I don't know. I like that he has given a voice to many issues I side with and he stands up for many values that align with mine. I was being more jovial in my initial responses, being playful with emojis and taking the piss that all I consumed was Credlin, Bolt and Jones. To be honest I don't actually listen all that much to Alan Jones but when I do I have found I genuinely agree or understand his point of view.It seems you are aware of his history, but still choose to elevate him as a role model?
You also called a known sex trafficker a legend.
What a nice piece of work you are.
Exact same thing but in reverse
Where is the toxic masculinity? Where are the nazis?
That's reason to question why you're being spun a story of a world that doesn't really exist?
I think he is a bit weird and not that bright tbh but was being a bit facetious.
I think Kouta showed for the millionth time footballers arent known for their smarts. As a carlton man you must be a bit upset that Kouta missed out on the lord mayor position. He would have got the kiddies in the CBD back on the right track
I think Kouta showed for the millionth time footballers arent known for their smarts.
Yeah but again... exactly like you say... it's not an in-your-face-every-day-occurrence so why are we basing our voting and politics on it?
I do see toxic masculinity in the sense that some boys at my daughter's school seem to go out of their way to bully their way to the perceived top of the social status pile. And I expect the school to do something about it. Just like I expect it to do something about the sometimes very nasty bullying that the girls engage in. So it's a real thing and something to be addressed... but addressing it doesn't immediately turn into cutting the kids' balls off which seems to be the implied requisite response if you believe in the woke-monster.
I also see fascism (I won't call it Nazism because that has specific historical context and equating the two is a nice way to deflect from criticism of fascism for exactly what it is. I see it exactly in the politics and proposed policies of the modern Republican party. I also see it variously in parties growing in stature across Europe, Australiasia, and South America. And we know it's real because the 20th century is littered with fascist regimes that weren't Nazis but equally weren't democratic, thrived on ultranationalist ideals, and mostly did not achieve the economic or social success of democracies during the same time periods.
Probably a good idea to get your daughter into self-defence. Just a suggestion.
You think we're all liars, then?At lease those on the right don't hide it. Its the nasty left who try and hide it. They hide behind social justice when really the things they want would get them a better lifestyle eg less work & more free things. Its all self interest at the end of the day but because the winners are winning they are the ones labelled badly.
Some may be. I think a lot may also believe they are telling the truth but still be truly intrinsically motivated by self interest. You think we're all liars, then?
No such thing as altruism in your worldview? Some may be. I think a lot may also believe they are telling the truth but still be truly intrinsically motivated by self interest.
Your leader Albo has more rental properties than you can poke a stick up. Eg he dresses up as a man for social justice for the camera but clearly he is self interested.
I had arguments on the forum this week about what is a fair tax and a couple people pointed out the common man like us would pay less if billionaires paid more. So hiding because the guise of social justice when really it all comes back to self interest.
There is probably some out there while many can do it for some selective issues. These outlier situations don't change the fact generally people are guided by self interest. No such thing as altruism in your worldview?
The problem I have with your perspective - again - is you seem to want to have it both ways. You think altruism probably exists but all people are guided by self interest. You think the wealthy should have no moral imperative to fund the lives of others, but that them paying for education is a worthy expense. There is probably some out there while many can do it for some selective issues. There is 100 lefties in a room. 10 of them may be altruistic. 10 of them are liars and know they are guided by self interest. 80 of them don't think they are lying but are guided by self interest. The problem I have with your perspective - again - is you seem to want to have it both ways. The inconsistencies jar. While I've said before that consistency is for lesser minds - because the nature of subjective morality means that the things we view as right are frequently incompatible with each other, and the best we can do is negotiate our way through those moments as best we can - but there's a difference between two worldviews that come into occasional conflict - the desire to allow third world nations to become self sufficient versus the global need to address climate change, for example - and worldviews that contradict each other directly.
How do you negotiate that conflict?
Doesn't really answer the question I asked:There is 100 lefties in a room. 10 of them may be altruistic. 10 of them are liars and know they are guided by self interest. 80 of them don't think they are lying but are guided by self interest.
Numbers are made up but you get the gist.
I didn't say 'all people are guided by self-interest'. I made an observation on a group of people. I was talking for the 90%.
In that post alone I also said migrants are voting for Trump. Did you take that to mean I think 100% of migrants are voting for Trump?
I also said both sides were prepared to fight. Does this mean 100% of people were prepared to fight? Probably not.
