Why do people rate Pavlich ahead of Riewoldt ?

ok thanks. he does seem to be doing very well in that 1st possession category then..

with the career statistics aswell, its hard to judge some of those stats, seeing as pavlich played centre half back, and full back also.. so his goals tally, and possibly marks will be down (don't remember pavlich being part of those cheap marks kicking back and forth to one another like nowadays)

i thought it was kind of relevant.. if people are looking at the fact that riewoldt has taken more marks/goals than pavlich this season, then maybe we can look at other stats in the position that pavlich has been playing, that reflect how his season has been..

if that makes sense..?.. i hope..

either way, like i said before, riewoldt has had the better season..

The same is true of us.

Can I ask though, with a bunch of very good players why then did they constantly miss finals during this period bar one season?

The same could well be said of you, I have always thought that was one of the Saints problems. But this year it seems to all be coming together.

I thought I answered that in the second part of the post anyway. Primarily, they had issues with depth across the park (mainly midfield and defence). Their coach was average as well. Cuddles was not the man they needed.

There were some decent players in the team though. Maybe not as many as you, but they weren't far off.

I realise that, but statistics are subjective. For all I know you were hoping to show that Riewoldt should be rated higher as he is superior as a ruck option .

I think this maybe where your problem is, I didn't do anything but supply some stats, the rest maybe in that vacuumis cranium of yours.

statistics are subjective now there is a quote for the ages...what is the water like over there in Freo?

You were actually very objective at the start of this thread but since your mate Jeff Dunne got made to look like a dunce you've let yourself slip by posting idiotic things to hide behind a lack of arguement.

And before you say you weren't arguing anything that's my point you added absolutely nothing of value. It's probably best to just let this thread die as it's going nowhere.

you talking to me?

Fine, thanks for the stats. They've proved incredibly helpful in determining why Pavlich is rated higher than Riewoldt - it's his higher tackle count. Obviously.

I'll concede that was poorly worded, statistics are statistics, they are what they are. How people choose to use them is subjective.

For what it's worth, the water in Fremantle is cold.

Glad we sorted that out.
I would still have Roo atm despite any stats simply because he is on fire atm....It's cold here too;)

Okay, now that's sorted what's next, Iraq or Iran?

I'd have Roo at the moment as well...and Hayes...and Montagna...and Dal Santo etc. Pretty much your entire team is on fire at the moment.

I'd argue they are one of the great under-performers this decade.

Which brings us back to Pav and the 'carrying the team' argument (to where I'm not sure)

It's amazing the drivel that gets left in these threads as serious discussion.

The only people looking like a dunce in this thread are those that are that precious they can't handle someone with an opinion that differs to theirs.

How would you like me to prove selfishness?

Too many selfish players (I don't think Pav was selfish, but he sometimes appeared so because of the amount his teammates looked for him, even in 2/3 on 1 situations. Also as I said before, too many weak areas all across the park. Also, they needed a harder coach, cuddles was not the man for them, too many excuses and acceptance of honourable losses as mini-victories.
