Sorry to intrude on this Essendon-Hawthorn lover's tiff. But after 25 out of 27 failed seasons, surely Richmond are the most insecure club in the league.
Both of you won a premiership in the last decade and should be far from insecure about anything.

There are so many clubs claiming to be this and that but the Hawthorn football Club are leaders in their field look at our involvement in New Zealand and Tasmania always looking outside the box.

What has Essendon or Richmond done differently? Both are so far behind they need to poach someone from Hawthorn (Ian Robson and Hardwick) to help get their club to where Hawthorn is.

They just can't get enough of that pretty red colour. It's the reason they bang on about Hawthorn and our 'ordinary' colours. They just don't get.
How could anyone like a team that doesn't have pretty colours?

It's the reason they despise Collingwood and Carlton too, for such bad fashion sense as to not include a lovely shade of a vibrant colour, like Essendon's, for all their dainty supporters to pounce around in.

You do realise the AFL audit all membership figures - Hawthorn actually had 700 members not counted in their official tally due to them getting on too late.

Our membership includes all ticketed members. Get over it.

Proffessional flags...you mean like the 60's, 70's & 80's where every player had to have a full time job and train a few nights a week after work?
If you're going to go down that path then the only flags that count are from the early 90's onwards...which is a joke. They all count, Hawthorn's and Essendon's and everyone elses, because they were all flags at the highest level of footy in the country.

I find it funny how Hawthorn fans somehow think Geelong supporters are still hurting about the 2008 grand final two and a half months after clinching the 2009 flag.

I wonder how many Hawks fans in December 1988 were dirty on losing the 1987 flag two and a half months after winning the 1988 flag.

Yeah definitely. But when you consider than in 1924 Hawthorn had won zero flags in any competition - if fact, Hawthorn weren't even a club by the time Essendon had won a flag - it's easy to see why you're shitting yourselves.

A small, junior club in 1902 is only 6 flags behind you.
