I tire of having to say this, but to be progressive is not to be left wing. They're different things, and they have different goals. Lefties can be staunchly conservative, and can (and do) absolutely participate in anti-religious bias or being deeply religious. Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard were deeply religious and an atheist in that order.

You also cannot have it both ways. You can't complain about DEI on one hand and say "The LEFT hate all religions!" on the other. Either progressives hate all religions and aren't inclusive - which would be a point blank stupid thing to try and argue - or they're inclusive to a fault and you throw stones at that. Pick a lane.

It's been two weeks since the arson attack on the Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne. We don't know who were the perpetrators or their motives. Three suspects but still no arrests. But a narrative has been created that it was an antisemitic terrorist attack. If it can be painted as antisemitic terrorist attack then it's pretty much blaming Islamists or pro-Palestines for it.

My point was that despite not knowing who were the perpetrators or their motives it has been painted as antisemitic terrorist attack. Albanese announced an anti-Semitism task force.

My understanding is that the Adass Israel sect is ultra-Orthodox anti-Zionist, so the attack could have been motivated by that.

Then there's the Adass Israel School sex abuse scandal. The former principal, Malka Leifer, faced trial on 74 sex offences with accusations from at least eight alleged victims. She fled to Israel with the help of senior members of the Adass community. Israeli police indicted former Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman, following an investigation into official interference with Leifer's extradition case.

It seems odd that an uptick in attacks against Jewish targets would coincide with a rise in progressive-backed protests against Israel, no? We've had Hezbollah flags held aloft in a Melbourne cbd protest.
