I'm just finding it amusing that Australia has the largest Muslim country via population on its doorstep and its never raised as a serious threat from invasion, assimilation and what not.

But couldn't the doctor equally say that the card holder's expectations can make them unable to make the right choices? The doctor might believe that they're doing the card holder a favour, because from their perspective life is sacred and those who give up on it can't enter the Kingdom of God.

They also may have. They're not all uneducated and oppressed. Plenty of Muslims have been here for over a generation and have children born and raised here who have reached adulthood. People learn things in that time.

And even if they are uneducated and oppressed, what's your solution to this? Perhaps free legal advice to those about to go to a sharia authority for resolving a civil matter, to let them know they have other options? Or do you have a different solution in mind?
