Reminder: This isn't the Israel/Hamas thread. Go to the Israel/Hamas thread if you want to talk about that. Thanks.

More than happy to take the atheists and lgbt's who can prove they're at risk.
Interesting position when you keep using their lack of safety as a reason to stop immigration from those countries

Could it be that it's not your real reason?

When did I say I'd completely stop immigration from those countries?

You don't read what I post. You are looking for a reason to be offended and you found one, even if it's a result of your own imagination.
Could it be that it's not your real reason?
Why are you so easily offended? What's the real reason?

Good principle. This thread also makes it feel like much of society has learned nothing about what radicalises people over the past 25 years. Treating people like garbage is more likely to make them act like garbage.
So your saying Muslims will continue to be radicalised if the the vast vast majority of people don't treat them as you would expect? I mean that in itself is an issue. Trump just won power for example?

Trump winning power just shows how radicalised that gun toting Christian country has become.

Should we restrict American Christians from immigrating here?

And they don't recognize marriages by the Sharia council. That's my point. Its not technically "illegal" to be married to a child by a Sharia Council because its not a marriage.

And no its not assault if I agree to it.
What?

I don't understand your reply, because it just comes across as outlandishly wrong.

Why do people never read my posts!

I mean, I don't read my posts either... But I have standards!

Notice how this thread is mostly far left posters arguing with centrists?

What fascinates me is watching the right offer a carrot and the left bash us with a stick.
You know what I notice?

Someone who purports to be a centrist espousing the precise same rhetoric as the racists. They even provide a palatable facade of reasons to disguise their intentions in more or less exactly the same way.

I can get on board with you being against the mistreatment of LBGTQI+ and women in general, but I struggle at why you'd use immigration as a means to address that issue. Why is it that immigration is the concern over support for women or LBGTQI+ people trying to leave?

Why aren't you asking us to increase our refugee intake to take in specifically those people fleeing persecution from an Islamic regime rather than kicking progressives for looking at a waterbound bird that likes the rain and calling it a duck?

In short: why are you making racist arguments obscured by the faintest of curtains then cracking the shits when someone tells you what you're doing?

I favour reducing immigration numbers from predominantly Islamic nations - not ban. Those who already live here will remain free to conduct their religious activities just the same as any other religious observant.
So you do agree then, that you are just banning a people from specific areas.
In general the Arab demographic, right?

You're not talking about Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei. You're talking about people from the Middle East.

And most importantly. You're not talking about implementing systems in Australia to stop the growth of the Islamic ideology or radicalisation. In fact you're more than happy for the people already here to continue to grow it.
You are only talking about stopping Arab people from coming to our country.

The ideology doesn't need migration, to grow.

I shouldn't write this as it will just come across as antagonistic.
But I think you're going to respond with 'not understanding'. As an act or genuine.

There are two distinct 'things'. One is a people, the other is an ideology.
What you're calling for is to discriminate against a people. While doing nothing about the ideology.

You're calling for the punishment of a people, and you're using the ideology as the excuse to do it. Without addressing the ideology at all.

Would you be ok with say 51% of the UK being Muslim? Theoretically far in the future?
How do you think it could ever possibly get to that level? 51%??? ( I think I know why you chose that number).

Considering in the UK it's currently 6.5% and at that level there are already riots against Arabs and Mulsims. Arson etc.
Businesses, cars, homes, looted and set alight.
People desperately trying to KILL THEM, because of their nationality.

Britain has been convulsed by violence for the past week as crowds spouting anti-immigrant and Islamophobic slogans clashed with police. The disturbances have been fueled by right-wing activists using social media to spread misinformation
More than a dozen towns and cities have been caught up in the unrest including London, Hartlepool, Manchester, Middlesborough, Hull, Liverpool, Bristol, Belfast, Nottingham and Leeds.
Some of the worst violence occurred Sunday, when hundreds of rioters stormed a Holiday Inn Express housing asylum-seekers in the town of Rotherham, outside Birmingham. Police in riot gear were pelted with bricks and chairs as they tried to defend the hotel from attackers who kicked in windows and pushed a burning wheelie bin inside. Hours later, another group attacked a hotel in Tamworth, 70 miles to the south.

The consequences of this misinformation are being felt in Australia, too.
"Unfortunately, these incidents have a reverberating global impact, especially for visibly-identifying Muslim women," Dr Amath said.
"Such events can lead to heightened fear, anxiety, and vulnerability, as they may become targets of hate speech, discrimination, or even physical violence."
She said many Muslim women are afraid to be in public.
"They're on guard just in case they have to 'cop it'."
Dr Amath hopes this serves as a reminder of the "importance of accurate and responsible political and media discourse."
"The violent riots we are seeing in the UK didn’t happen in a vacuum," she said.
"Unfortunately, we have seen the massive, violent consequences of such misinformation."

Islam is 3.2% in Australia.

I shouldn't have done this post. Because it reminded me why I get so angry.

Why converse with these lunatics Trump has flogged the leftists nut jobs in the USA, Canada are doing the same, Europe will be far right before you know it, Farage and the conservatives are well ahead of that clown Starmer in the polls and Dutton will imo will be PM in Australia in the new year , the world is changing for the better these posters on here are to tone death to realise it’s their leftist ideology is to blame.
You flogs always complain about the SRP being some crazy leftists echo chamber.

It isn't.

It's just that you feel attacked when you're unable to assert your feelings over the actual facts and information.

So all posters like you do now is:
  • Waddle into a thread.
  • Throw a few cheap shots.
  • State something vague with undeserved authority. And even though it's incredibly vague, it's still demonstrably wrong.
  • Multiple people who actually understand the topic respond to the post.
  • You say that you're right and they're wrong and nyah nyah.
  • Now just before leaving you'll point out that you could easily prove your statement, but there's no point because it's such a lefty echo chamber. And as you're the victim in all of this with all the 'outrageous' replies to your posts, we don't even deserve your time.
  • Time for one last quick cheap shot.
  • Waddle off into the sunset. (but actually stick around and smash the emoticons from the shadows.

Protectionist measures can falsely be interpreted as racist. You only need look at the Hispanic vote in the US as an example.

High levels of immigration are destroying this nation in many ways...property prices, education standards, income, employee rights, and more...all in the name of keeping our GDP in the green.

I don't want us to increase our refugee intake. We do more than enough already.

If that makes me racist, I suspect you'll find the alternative wont be equally kind.

Was that the question? Would you be ok with 51%
