Why the majority of Carlton Fans are Angry!!

I already answered, as you can see, by saying it was a basic comment, yet with some element of truth to it.

In years gone by, when he was our one shining light, his behaviour was tolerated. Now that we've built a good list, people are happy to see him go.

Add as many  as you want, but if our list wasn't so strong, supporters on here would not be so quick to back this decision, and I would not be surprised if he wasn't up for trade.

We have a lot of options up forward do we??

What he said plus might you concede that his 'tolerated' behaviour is also a cumulative thing :)

How would we really know when so much of our crap football has been a direct consequence of being Fev-focused.

Iv'e seen to many good leads by our other forwards not honoured and overlooked only to kick it to Fev who has 2-3 opponents on him.

Maybe a Fev-less forward line will see a more even spread of goals like you might see at the Western Bulldogs.

Don't kid yourselves people. Without the big man the only place we are headed is down.

That makes no sense.

Going by that theory, despite the fact our premiership window isn't really for a few more years it will actually be closed because by then Fev will be retired or not what he was.

Might as well trade Gibbs, Murphy, Kruezer now for quick fix players so that we can try and win a flag while Fev is around.

As according to you once he's gone its all over for our chances...

Where is Ratten going to be placed in 2 years when we dip down out of the 8 for a couple of years while we rebuild again? He has said repeatedly that 2010 was our year to really make a go at the flag- looking a little shaky now!!

It makes perfect sense. I am not talking about when Fev retires, I'm talking about next season... and yes if we trade him we will need a quick fix.

Spot on. We're 10 points from St.Kilda and beat all the other teams in the top 4 this year. WE'RE NOT FAR AWAY. Chuck in Waite, Warnock, McLean, Jammo, FEV, and we could really challenge.

Do you watch our team? Carlton?

Our window is opening now, The big clue was when we got into the eight. You know? Just this season? Before that we were with the bottom feeders. If we lose Fev we have to change the entire game plan, which sets us back ~3years.

Yeah I do watch them.

And that's why I can categorically say we aren't a chance for the flag next year.

Be realistic, we aren't at Geelong's level yet.

Making the 8 especially the bottom 4 of it doesn't count for much in todays finals system.

St Kilda were supposed to be red hot with its GF window open a few years ago.

Surprise surprise they never made a GF. Then it was supposed to be closed.

Their players matured and lo and behold they malke a GF because their stars were finals wiser and more game hardened.

We are 2-3 years off that situation.

And what game plan do we have now that's such a brilliant plan?

The kick it to Fev plan is way to predictable.

Well, if Fev goes it's going to set us back 1 year at least in terms of progress toward flag 17. And that hurts. Hurts a lot. On the positive side, we'll be getting some good draft picks now before the compromised drafts, and that will put us in good shape in a few years. I really hate this though. Hope the trade falls through, but I'm not confident. Whatever happens we just have to cop it on the chin, and get on with it. :)

So the next time he stands in the pocket sooking,or lets Tayte Pears run off him,or hugs his Saints buddies after WE lost, you'll console yourself with the fact that at least we didn't trade him!!!

And when he bags 10 for Brisbane in Round 22 against Carlton putting us out of the finals, you'll console yourself with the fact that we did???

You forgot to mention that he kicked 99 goals last year, 89 this year + was the leading key position forward player in the league with tackling, and won the coleman twice

pretty successful period as well...all those finals appearances...can we thank fev for them all??? ...hang on...if my memory serves me correctly, 99 goals in a team which didnt make the finals??????????????? SURELY WE CAN NOT GET RID OF THIS GUY...fev = grand final wins...evidently!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will list these reasons in point form. Feel free to add to them.

1) The Carlton Football Club is a FOOTBALL club. It is not a church group. It is not a family group. It is a club that is in the business of winning football games for its members and supportes. It is not here to provide moral guidance. It is not here to make money above what is needed to finance the football operations. It is not here to be a pillar of society and to act as a social concience for all those involved with the club. It is here to WIN football games!!

2) Brendan Fevola embarrased himself on Brownlow night. He did not embarras the football club. He did not commit a criminal offence. He got drunk, carried on like a bit of an idiot but at the end of the day he did nothing that will see him hauled before the courts. Fev did what many people do on a weekend, and had one too many, and as a result would of woken up with a sore head in the morning. Thats where this should of ended.

3) The media's agenda this last week has been dispicable. There whole focus has been on blowing this so far out of proportion and in essense trying to force Carlton to make a media driven decision. For Carlton to succumb to the Herald Sun dribble is what irks us supporters most.

4) The joy this has given opposition supporters. Everyone can see plain as day this is going to have a detrimental affect on our onfield performance. Publicly those outside the club are saying Carlton must make a stand, enough is enough etc etc. Privatly they are just hoping to get there grubby little hands on the best goalkicker in the comp and are prepared to take this so called baggage that comes attatched. If Fevola is such a liability, why would any other club want to touch him. Is he all of s sudden a different person?? I'll tell you why.. He is a matchwinner, he is in the top couyple of forwards in the comp, and we are just punishing ourselves by making this stand. His onfield efforts have been nothing short of outstanding and thats why this club exists, for onfield performance!!!!!

5) Does anyone actually believe that having a character at a football club is such a bad thing. To those who have been involved at a football club let me ask you. Does what someone does on a weekend actually affect how you prepare yourself for training...for games..especially when that person is one of the most professional people when it comes to the football side of things you would want to find. On top of this people gravitate to him, he provides comaraderie. He provides that spark. He is the X factor that cant be replaced

6) To those saying this is Carlton FC and not Fevola FC. What a load of crap. Of course it is Carlton fc, we all know that. Our frustration stems from teh fact the prime function of Carlton ( i.e winning games ) has been put in 2nd place to satisfy the media, and other so called factions in society.

7) And finally we have been through 7 years of crap, and with the recruitment of Brock Mclean, the hopefully full season out of Warnock our premiership window officially opened next season. It has now been slammed shut!! We have let the agenda of the media, opposition supporters and social commentators dictate what is best for our onfield fortunes. Why the f@ck do we care what other teams think?? Carlton exists for its fans. The fans want success. We couldnt give a rats toss if Fev occasionally drinks too much on a weekend. That is his issue and as long as it doesnt affect his onfield performance ( which it hasnt ) then what does it matter as long as he is not doing anything totally illegal.

Over and out!

Buddy

I have just posted some info on Fev I have heard today in the Drafts/Trades section under Port Chase Fev.
Its about Fev making one last plea to the Club today to save his career with Carlton

Maybe you should post it here as well...

I just read it and the points seem valid...

It's as if you wrote them down, word for word..

I have it on good authority that Fev today has made a possionate plea with Carlton to stay at the club.
He has said
1. He would be prepared to re-do his contract to include extra clauses and alter his pay
2. Do a 6 month AA course
3. Undertake extra counselling
4. Issue a formal public apology
5. Issue a private apology to everybody he has offended in person
6. Cease with all media work
7. Prepared to accept a club imposed suspension at the start of the season
8. Work on an AFL Program for free about the dangers of drinking

He has told the club he does not want to go and play anywhere else and now truely believes he has an issue and wants to rid himself of it. He has told the club he owes so much to so many at the club that by moving he will never get the chance to truely repay them.
The club are assessing this new development.
Stay tuned.

This is the way the situation should have been handled from the start. I hope Carlton take it on- except having he and Judd out at the start of the year will be pretty ugly!!

I like it, I like it a lot :thumbsu:

Sadly there will be the sanctimonious, self-righteous fan brigade, almost elitiest type fans, IE 30 Year Blue, Splendifi etc, who would think that even if Fev made a pilgrim to Mecca, and recanted from all his boozing and womanizing ways, it wouldn't be enough.

Those conditions seem damn good and fair to me, I just hope it's true and that Swann and Judd and Sticks etc, aren't such control freaks that they wouldn't sit down and negotiate with him to stay, as long as he abides by those rules.
