I've been meaning to post this up for a while, so this is not based on todays game (though seeing that length of that goal he kicked and reading the corresponding thread reminded me to do this one). If you compare the first two seasons of each of the three what Smith has done is way in front of the other two.

I originally was only going to propose that Smith might end up better than Sloane but thinking about it a bit more, Smith is not far off Danger in a number of attributes, he's got a lot of speed, just short of Danger, he's got a lot of endurance, still a bit short of Danger, but remember its taken Danger four seasons to get where he is, I can see Brodie getting there and perhaps even ending up in front in this area. Has a big, long, strong and fairly accurate kick. If he can put a bit more muscle on and there's no reason to think he wont, then he will be another big strong bodied midfielder as well, prolly wont be as powerful as Danger but again, I think he won't be far off.

Dangerfield has the attributes to even surpass Roo and Macca, it just doesn't get any better than that.

I did think that Brodie showed a bit more of the X Factor today and he is developing beautifully. I must try and find out who questioned my judgement earlier in the season when I complained about him being dropped.

Exactly!! :thumbsu:

IMO Dangerfield is well on his way to being the best player in the AFL.
I know its against Gold Coast but today's game showed just how good is Dangerfield. He is a real manace as a midfielder. How many contests did he fly into today, stand up in a tackle and give out a handball to a running player. He also has exceptional break away pace from the packs, carries and kicks long.

But the thing that adds to all that is his ability to go forward and kill his opponent on the lead and in marking contest. He is an excellent overhead mark, quick on the lead and an accurate kick for goal. He is just so dangerous no matter where he plays and impossible to match up on regardless of where he plays.

No, but he'll complement both beautifully with his great outside running and long kicking. It's exciting to think how many good players we have in the 18-22 age bracket (the Rendell era). We will be capable of hovering around the top 4 for quite a few years to come. Rendell is the man!

Dangerfield will go down as the best player to wear a crows jersey in 10 years time though.

Well you woud not want to be the next player having to wear the 32 jumper after having to follow Roo and Dangermouse!

Big shoes to fill.

Don't need Viagra whenever I see Danger gets the ball. :D

On Smith, he is integral to our defensive structure. Our two key defensive players to its structure are Talia and Smith. One to shut down the key opposition player and the second to provide the run and carry with long kicks.

Can't imagine anyone being better than Dangerfield other than some demigod who has been forced to spend some time on earth. As for Rory, I've been watching him for a while. He is rarely beaten in any one on one contests. Against Richmond he was beaten twice and I was quite excited that I had finally seen anyone beat him aand was going to write in about him being a dud :) (disclaimer: don't have Foxtel and in Melbourne don't have many free to air matches and not a great judge of football but love the Crows)

Totally agree Macca. I have never been this excited about a player before. I have not seen a player like him in the past. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to see this guys career unfold.

Most of us never saw Bradman or Phar Lap, but we will see Dangerfield.;)

You mean we complained.

I can't wait until we find some running defenders and get to play Smith on a wing. He appears your perfect wingman, speed, good skills, creative and makes good decisions and he can let fly from 60. Plus he is still skinny, another couple of years in the gym and he will be a gun.
