Nah, he will retire within the next two years IMO. Hopefully Mitchell is ready to take over by then.
I don't agree with this premise. We should go to market and get what we consider best available. If that is Mitchell then great, if it is not then great.

Assuming he is the right guy to take over, it's a nice romantic story if he does but the Jury is still out on if Sam is senior coaching material IMO.

Mitchell was looking after our midfield this season... hopefully that's not an indication of his coaching abilities otherwise we will be deeper trouble
I don't think he was looking after stoppages though, which was the issue.

2021: push and piss off fans by finishing 9th/10th (the most useless spots on the ladder)
2022: make finals, grab a win, bail out to someone stupid
2023: Real threat/chance for the grand final
2024/25: contend in proper

Clarko to extend again

Every chance as no reason this Tigers team can't compete at the top for another 3-4 years.

There's a few decent reasons, one of those is that the vast majority of their core players are now 29/30 plus, and Dusty doesn't strike me as the type of bloke that'll play until he's 33. There were signs this year.

They're a good outfit no doubt, but they're on average about the same age we were in 2015.

I don’t really like that line Hodgey

The jury is out on every coach atm (tried or untried) with the exception of Dimma
How dare you try to upset HODGEYROAD by not realising that C.Scott is a master coach.

Shame on you wahawk. ;)

I would have thought that was quite obvious.
He has only been in coaching 3 years.
It's interesting that North are looking at David Noble from Brisbane (footy boss) similar to the role Fagan had at the Hawks. We might be seeing a shift to football managers rather than coaches.

Tigers 2020 GF team about a year younger on average than our 2015 team so maybe 3-4 years is a little optimistic for them.

Dusty is an interesting one, turns 30 next season but still contracted until the end of 2025. I suppose it just comes down to how long he can keep up this sort of level.

I reckon it's 2024 or even 2025 before we're winning two finals in a single finals series. Have to give the kids time to gel, play together, rise together. I think in seasons ahead it's build, build, showing signs, contending.

Yeah that's why I've now earmarked a potential list of players that could play in 2025 in another thread. We have a big job ahead of us.

I was at a club function 18 months ago where they talked about 2022 bring the target premiership year. They also discussed adding further DFA at that point which hasn’t happened. Plans obviously changed and with that hard to see Clarko staying beyond next year.

Club thought we had a great shot at a few free agents amongst other things that have gone wrong in the last 24 months, things just haven't gone to plan so the objective in the short to medium term really has to change also.

We have all been spoiled by premierships rolling around every few years. 1991-2008 was like a million eternities.

The reality is that there are 18 teams, and our chances of making a Grand Final, let alone winning one..... are not based on history.

The discussion that Clarko should give it up because he's a loser now.... I personally don't buy into it.

However, our game plan has really sucked for the last couple of years. So, maybe he has got stale.

Maybe it is time for a change.

But, is Mitch the messiah..... hmmmm.... needs to get some runs on the board first.

The Jury is out for me, I'm not sure how much hunger and patience he has for the rebuild at the moment, shall be an fascinating 18-24 months coming up.
I'm not sure hunger is the problem.

Jeff will be president when Clarko's contract expires. I'm just not sure Jeff gives him another one, especially with Sam in the background.
