I was an Eagles member for a few years... A few years back i ran into some pretty tough financial times and decided not to renew as well as cut back a lot of things. No phone call. No email. No letter. Nothing. From then on I didnt care as much. I still hope Eagles win week to week but not shattered like I used to be.

Its all just a business and you're just a number.

Shame coz as a kid Id never thought Id not give a shit if we lose.

*Support the West Coast Eagles ... surprised when you are seen as a replaceable customer and treated like a number not a person*

I can recommend a real club for you to support if you're interested?

Yeah I realise they're a corporation but you know what Im saying.

When you're a kid and before you realise the way the world works these footy teams are everything but as you get older you realise they couldn't give 2 shits as long as they get their $$ from you.

Port are the same dont kid yourself. Eagles just money better.

I "barrack" from afar now. Dont lose anything really. Not like I live in Perth and am in amongst it.

Anyway just giving my story.

Definitely a less painful way to follow a team I guess.

I was weighing up whether to renew this year. Having been quite disillusioned with all the goings on off and on the field this season. This is legitimately the first time I have ever doubted my renewal since first signing up preseason 2001.
The people I sit with are not renewing for various reasons and I probably wouldnt be either if I hadn't jagged a $500 prize for winning an Ultimate footy draft league thsi year. Will be harder to justify in 2020 if im not as lucky next year.

I'm as close as I have ever been to not renewing...if the club trades out Wingard it is showing an absolute lack of ambition in my opinion. Additionally, the pending arrival of my firstborn means I might not have the urge to go to every game.

*note like the sucker I am I will still probably renew

Find better ways to put across your grievances.

How exactly?

We have 0 control of our board as all bar 2 members are appointed. They answer to the AFL, not us. And all the AFL want is for us to be financially stable. They don't give a fig how well we do.

Abusing the social media guy? He's as pissed off as we are, but he has a job to do. I feel sorry for them.

Emailing the club? The delete button is really close to the enter key.

Voting bad in the survey? LOL

Not having a go directly at you, but let us know our options?

El_Scorcho I believe you could contribute to this discussion.

Not renewing isn't the way to affect positive change. Find better ways to put across your grievances.

As I found out, holding up a sign in protest meant I copped a fair bit of abuse from my fellow supporters (although I did get a lot of support as well), but I wasn't willing to drop my membership and I really, genuinely have no other recourse.

I'll have a very hard time getting motivated to go to games next year if we've traded Chad Wingard and still play such an unwatchable trash brand of football.

At least when we were shit it was exciting to see the next generation coming through.

Sadly that was probably the highlight of the season that sign.

Edit: maybe Flashpoint Motlop pipped it.

I'm leaning towards still renewing but purely to keep my reserved seat, not for football purposes at all.

Depending on what we do with the list and our game plan early next year, I won't be fussed if I don't go to more than a handful of games.

My form of boycott will be avoiding the Port Store at all costs and not spending any money on merchandise, it's all I can think of.

I'll renew my seat because it's cheap enough (silver b) and I'll just upgrade ad hoc by taking all the good seats from you guys when you can't make it please

Banned.
