I agree with you. Many people who claim to be Christians do not practice as Christians as the bible instructs them. But i'm sure most of those who claim to be Christians have an underlying belief in Jesus which is the most fundamental part of Christianity. I also believe that most of those who claim to be Christians respect the day as holy. In any event, the thrust of my argument is that it is one sacred day that Christians, however you define them, ask that you respect their beliefs and simply forego a game of football. One day, thats all. Surely that is not too much to ask?
To be expected to allow a bunch of people to control 1 minute of our time is too much to ask. No one is telling those of faith what to do or not to do, but they think it's fine to insist that others "sacrifice" without doing so of their own free will.
There are plenty of words to describe this sort of behaviour but "christian" definitely ain't one of them!
