Worse Loss I can remember

John Cleese (can't remember where);

It's not the despair ...... I can handle the despair. It's the hope I can't stand.

To the OP, maybe you were lucky enough not to see some of the Drum-years games.

Actually, I always remember the coach-killer game v North, when Thornton missed a last minute goal to win. Connelly resigned the next day. The clean-out began that week.

This game will hopefully also result in a massive review coming up to the next bye.

If we lose the next two I'd hazard a guess Harvey would be packing his bags too.

At least in the drum years it was entertaining to lose, it was comedy with Clive, Modra, Wills, etc. Now we're watching skinny council workers on "Smoko" take the field and be dominated against teams younger and more inexperienced than them....

While that's not an unfair comment, I'm fairly confident that won't happen.

I mean we're bad, but we're not THAT bad...

You don't think Brissy and GC could beat what we dished up against Melb/Saints? They could in my opinion, and maybe by higher margins. If the players want to get rid of Harvey, that's how they would do it.

I don't believe we'll play as insipid this week.

GC won't even score 90 on us (assuming Harv's one week assessment of Grover was correct), let alone beat us by more.

Brisbane nearly beat us with one fit man on the bench when we had a better team than we'll field this round. Sure it was early season, but Brissy players would take something out of that game you'd think .

He could easily lose the next 2 and be safe. I'm not excusing us from expecting to win or lose but with the injury list the size it is the coaches future can't be judged on win/loss ratio. Only when something resembling our best team is on the park and we happen to still drop all the close ones i'd expect the tapping on the shoulder to start.

I think a key difference between now and then was that Brisbane hadn't declared their season was over.

Anyway, hopefully see you after the bye sometime ;)
