I reckon Gray will get to 90 at best, which is still decent but not worth the a better bye round compared to Pav.
You can always upgrade Gray to Pav at Round 11?

Got to make sure you don't drop too many points in Round 9. Having a donut will cost you more than the 90 points (based on your predictions) that you would cost yourself selecting Gray over Pav in your original team.

Plenty if upside for gray. Ill take the punt.
Any love for higgins if griffo still out with his back?

$250k for a hopefull 80-90 av?

Trading Gray to Pav would be a waste of a trade, it all depends on your bye structure I guess.

Mine is 9/7/14, but that can obviously change with rookies in the NAB (5/14 of my round 10 players are on the bench, another 3 are starting rookies, so 8/14 could easily be changed).

I reckon you just have to plan well, personally I'm planning on downgrading in the first two bye rounds leaving me to upgrade to three premiums before round ten. Say if I can go Tyson > Cotchin, Dunstan > Griffen and Rohan > Rioli (just names, would depend on fallen premium/which rookies have maxed) I reckon the byes wouldn't have too much effect on the team.

If that makes sense :p.

Yep, love your thinking.

I'm 7/8/15 at the moment and planning to use the first two Bye rounds to trade away 6 of the Round 10 Byes. Of those 15 Round 10 byes, 8 or something are <200k players.

Really struggling in the forward line, to choose 3 out of Franklin/Gray/Chappy/Parker/TMitch/Zorko/Pav/Gunston.

At the moment I've gone Parker, Chappy, Gunston, but it's hard to pick who will do well, and who won't. Too many choices

absolutely NONE, like 100 times more likely to play with a rusty nail in my eye socket

Personally I won't choose Buddy or Chappy, purely because they are at new clubs and how they fit in to those clubs and play at different home venues is largely unknown. I'm also close to ruling out Zorko after JL's comments here: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...-tough-preseason/story-fni5f4q3-1226821361299

At least that's how I eliminated a few of those many options you refer to :)

I've ruled out Zorko, just so many rumblings and too much of a headache for me :D Also TMitch, because I just think he might struggle a bit, just gut feel though.

I don't buy Chappy at a new club will hurt him. He's played at Etihad a lot, and he fills a need at Essendon that is exactly the same as his role at the Cats. And from all reports he's absolutely flying and his teammates are in awe of him. Franklin MIGHT, but it's too early to tell his role.

On Chapman, alot of Essendon supporters think he'll only play 16-18 games. If he played 20 he'd be a lock.

I can't see how Franklin won't improve on last year. Look at his averages from the few years..

2010: 107.4
2011: 110.5
2012: 115.5
2013: 90.2

That's a big drop I put mainly to the hawks being almost certain he was leaving and using him as a decoy/contract negotiations. That drop will go back up like Cloke last season IMO.

With the best midfield in the league kicking it to him I can't see how he will not average atleast 100 and more likely 110. The only reason for leaving him out IMO is suspension/injury worries.

Why do they think he'll only play 16-18 games? I was under the impression they thought they were in their flag window, which means he will play as many games as possible, so excluding injury he would be playing at least 20 games you'd think.

With Buddy, you can't just blame the drop on the contract negotiations in my mind. I think it had something to do with Roughead becoming far more prominent in that forward line. His average will climb back up, but I don't know the heights it will reach with Tippett in there as well who could also demand a bit of the ball. Which is why I said I'm going to wait til NAB challenge, and if it looks like he's getting a bit of the ball, then he's locked in.

Is Sam Reid back and fit?

You just asked about Higgins. Try again.

He's fit, although there's been a lot of talk about him playing CHB, and with Buddy/Tippett/Goodes/LRT etc. all able to play up forward there's not much room for him there.

Interesting comment about the swans there. By the end of the year that tag could very well belong to the Gold Coast. Their midfield is looking scary now.

I don't think this theory cuts it in super coach land. Quite often, people pick players for the exact opposite of the reason you mentioned. I understand that not ALL players who trade clubs (either via trade period or FA) to rejuvenate their careers are successful, but look at some of the gems we've had in past years that have deflected.

*regardless of whether or not they became premiums, every player on this list took their game to a new level and made cash for all super coaches.

- Brent Moloney (2012)
- Angus Monfries (2012)
- Josh Caddy (2012)
- Koby Stevens (2012)
- Ivan Maric (2011)
- Jack Gunston (2011)
- Brad Ebert (2011)

We know Buddy at his best is worth more than 497k. Both Buddy and Chappy are proven SC scorers and stars of the comp, and I don't think the fact that they've moved clubs will effect their games at all.

End of next year maybe, not this year.

Hey guys and gals, like everyone, i've been having a play around with different tactics and some unique picks. Apart from Ablett, Dangerfield and Pendlebury, i'd probably take out any player in my team to make changes, but I just wanted to get some thoughts lol. I'll post my current team and then ask a few questions.

1) Wingard or Martin
2) Does anyone think Adam Tomlinson is due for a breakout?, because i'm strongly considering him.
3) Barlow and Ebert a bit of a POD?

Tomlinson? you'd back him to score well at a number of other clubs. but with Cameron, Patton, Boyd and Giles up forward there's not really a role for him, unless they want to lump him onto a wing or a half back flank. i'd pass atm

Barlow is a very good POD, I've gone Watson over him but he's still a gun. Mr consistent.

How many of those players you mentioned were in their 30's?? I could list just as many players who moved clubs and failed.

I don't agree with you at all, but only time will tell. You've got to find some way to pick between the 7 of them, and that's the way I'm picking :)

Monfries, Moloney, Maric were all around 27 when traded. Buddy is 27 now.

And the ones that fail are 99% of the time not good players to start off with, or get injured a bit. Chappy fits the 2nd one maybe, but Buddy doesn't fit either.

Love the Ebo pick.

Monfries and Moloney went to relative basket case clubs and Maric walked into situations where there was no positional competition.

Buddy walks into a forward line featuring Tippett, Reid and probably Goodes
