This is truly embarrassing for you. We come to this sort of forum for many reasons but certainly including to share ideas, the occasional inside intel and genuine specialised knowledge of some posters. That specialised knowledge Mutineer possesses whilst giving a hell of a lot of his time watching Juniors (clearly a passion for him. Sure beats yelling at parked cars that I imagine a number of other posters do for kicks) and freely regularly sharing (inc answering so many questions) with our supporter base. He adds a HELL of lot of value to many in here I imagine based on the respect he is shown by the vast majority on his Juniors opinions.

serious question - do you think you actually add any value STO?

Why do you think what you believe or don't believe is of any importance?

Someone doesn't have 'specialised knowledge' just because there's a rube foolish enough to fall for their schtick.

I mean, if the only important thing is that your questions get answered on demand I've got you covered:

Sooks it up way too much onfield for my liking, always looking at the umps for a free kick. I've said it before someone should sit down with him and show him how the King brothers attack the ball in the air.
TT averages more contested marks at at the same age than the King twins.

I agree with your doubts, but they are fixable. He gets outbodied all the time in forward marking contests and apparently has been lacking confidence. I believe the club gave him some psychological help later in the season, which is at least attacking the root problem. Perhaps, that will help?
This is all expected for a 19-20 yo 200cm kid

You can see he has the ability long term

He’s already a beast and will learn to use his strength more and more

After two years out of the game he was never going to perform at his best in his first year back from that..

I expected to see a bit more though.. he was underwhelming to say the least.. But there were glimses.

Hopefully after a full preseason under Burgess…
That home Carlton game was good signs , now just needs to do it more regularly next year

Fingers crossed as it would make a huge difference

So it begins. The "like a new recruit" line. I can tick that off my bingo list.

Never mind he played most of last year. He can't be worse I suppose.

The new recruit line is bullshit - but 2022 was all about Milera surviving a year of AFL footy after 2 years out.

The positive is that after being gifted a game in rd 1 he ended up playing 11 of the last 12 games and showed flashes.

The worry is that he stagnates like Doedee. Doedee broke out in 2018 - then played a combined 10 games through two injury plagued seasons in 2019/2020. Played 21 games in 2021 and looked good, but I was expecting a big uptick in form in 2022. Unfortunately he didn't improve and his form actually went backwards.

Player x tearing it up on the track.

(Half back/Half forward player) is set for midfield minutes next season.

All players are scoring personal bests in their running and weights.

This is the toughest preseason yet.

You missed the classic -

"There is a lot of competition for spots inside the best 22 which is a great sign as it shows our depth"

Actually it shows that our best 22 isn't that good!

Josh Rachelle. Get a full pre-season into him and watch him set it alight. And he'll just keep getting better.
I'm still a touch concerned with what he's doing when he doesn't have the ball, looks to be Hella classy with the ball but his defensive efforts need work obviously another preseason will help his fitness thus getting him to more contests.

For me it's time for Thilthorpe to get an aggressive streak and really start nailing some big marks up forward, needs to work on his contesting with other big defenders. Can't keep getting pushed under or away from the drop zone so easily.

Really liked what I saw from Zac Taylor and Nankervis in the SANFL finals series hope at least 1if not both can get some games in the 1's this year.

Also hoping a praying Pedlar's body holds up and he surges forward with his development as he's the type of player we need in our midfield currently that we don't have, that burt power from stoppage with good skills and ability to kick goals out of the centre from 60m

Jackson Hately if he’s played inside and can get a good run of health.

I'm going to go with Parnell.

Mainly because he doesn't have a lot of competition for his spot now that Brown has retired.

He should get 15+ games easily.

The young mids are all fighting amongst themselves for 1-2 spots, maybe less if we stupidly gift Sloane back his midfield spot.

Maybe he fights with Sloane?

I got a new jumper with 30 on the back just before he did his knee, I got a new jumper just before the Carlton game with no number, I blame myself... I don't think I will wear the old one again so Jnr should start to fly now.

The question for me is, if you could only pick 1 of Milera or Brodie Smith to play in the Back 50 next year (and the other, does not get picked in the best 22). Who are you choosing?

I ask, because from memory Milera's best season was the season Brodie Smith was out the entire year with an ACL.
It’s a very valid question, and my answer is neither.
