T.Davidson (Will be rookied)
S.Rusling

They are the decent ones, then there is the hacks in Walker and Hall
I would be happy to rookie Davidson but whether we will or not who knows. As for Rusling, he’s exciting but I don’t think he’ll end up a key forward. Hopefully we have other options and in any case his run and pace would be handy across our middle. Good size with good pace and good hands and feet for a winger.

Leave the KP’s to Travis/Cameron and Rocca for the time being and post Rocca we can work on.

Chad Jones CHF 21 y.o - The great hope for the Kangas. Has had some minor injury problems but is ready to blossom in 2006.

Hamish McIntosh/David Hale Both 21y.o - One of these guys will be our number one ruckman, the other will turn into a tall forward. I'm guessing McIntosh will be in ruck and Hale will develop into a forward.

Jason Laycock, although he's half ruckman.
Jobe Watson, although I think he's a midfielder, he's 194/94.
Courtney Johns ha ha ha.
Kepler Bradley may well be a CHF rather than a CHB, and has dominated that position in the VFL.
Jay Neagle, this year's f/s pick, has been a very effective full-forward in the TAC Cup - how much of that is due to early development is open for debate.

There's talent in that group, but it's very much unproven. Having Lloyd and Llucas down there, and Hird, Solomon, Hille, McPhee and Henneman as options has meant that our younger candidates haven't really gotten a shot at it.

Not sure of the 18 - 22 category?????? but at St Kilda I think our KPP/playmakers age/games comparison tells the true "age" of our list....

Games/Age
Maguire - 67 , 21
Riewoldt - 91, 23
Kosistchski - 71, 23
Ball - 65, 21
Dal Santo - 75, 21

future looks good........ :D

Shannahan, Lowe, Everitt, Harvey, Jones?
The future had looked good before and as a famous coach once said, it's later than you think. That's a good crop without doubt though.

Jarrad Waite
Brad Fisher
Sentanta O'hAilpin

Waite & Fisher will be guns no doubt. Jury still out on Sentanta. With Fev & Lance leading the way we have a very dangerous forward set up
Now only if we had a backline & a decent ruckman:(

since they told Miller to F.off.

LOL MT

If you remove the blinkers, do you honestly believe Cameron and Jason wasting 2 spots on the list just to ensure Travis is there?

Personally, I rate Travis highly and if his midfield had played better this year would have looked even better ... In his debut season nonetheless, but would I take back picking up Mark Coughlan just to get Travis? No way in the world.

Brett Deledio(18)is over 190cm so i will include him
Luke McGuane(18) about 194cm now but listed at 191cm
Dean Limbach(19) again listed at 192cm but has grown a couple of cm's since being drafted
Adam Pattison(19) 198cm CHF/Ruckman
Jay Schulz(20) Listed at 193cm but looks taller
Will Thursfield(19) Is really a backman but he is a pretty good mark so could go forward, listed at 190cm but has grown
Kelvin Moore(21) naturall backman but played forward, 190cm

Yes it has looked good before (for many clubs not just us...that have also failed to capitalise.........) nonetheless..your last sentence is the point I was making.......those who say "saints window is closing/old list etc etc" arent really looking at the 'core' of the teams future success.

Interesting though the original crop you put up IMO are nowhere near as good as the current one (take out Harvey). Loewe was a fabulous player - but did he dominate at 23 like Riewoldt has already? (I think its fair to suggest Riewoldt WILL surpass Loewe as a footballer..big call but a bet Im happy to take)....hmmm....no...the future is looking even brighter than the past IMO.

I seem to be in the minority but I am a fan of Cameron and I’d like to see him at CHF this year with Rocca at FF. Travis looks exciting but he’s 18 we shouldn’t kill him. Jason is probably not going to make it but at this point we have a thin list and he’s decent backup. He’s actually very fit now and I am more than happy to give him another year to prove himself or otherwise. If I was delisting Collingwood players from the 2005 squad he wouldn’t be in the first dozen.

Coughlin looks a very good prospect. He's a midfielder though. If Travis continues to improve and becomes a CHF then it's a no contest really. Would you rather have Carey or Buckley? Would you rather have Richo or Campbell?

I wouldn't say nowhere near as good and you have to include harvey or else take out Riewoldt. I could have used Burke, Hall or whoever as well. I just tried to roughly match up player types to make a point. Things can change pretty quickly, particularly in these days of equalised AFL football.

That's actually a fair call I'll admit. He'll never be a superstar but probably an average (at worst) player.

When comparing the two in a singular head to head way ... I agree and would draft Travis first. However, what you have to remember is that Mark was drafted several years back... Travis was a very young prospect at that stage and no one knew how he'd turn out.

Richo or Campbell? Richo of course! Campbell was ******** anyway, Richmond are better now for his retirement. Not a fair comparison lol

What drugs are you on.... are you trying to say that these guys are similar to the group we have now. There was 8 years between oldest and youngest. Shanas and Loewie were 29 in 1997, if thats what your on about. Fair enough if you said Harvey, Lockett, Loewe, Burke, and Winmar.

Rob Harvey 21/08/1971 - 26
Stewy Loewe 23/05/1968 - 29
Aussie Jones 28/09/1976 - 21
Jamie Shanahan 6/12/1967 - 29
Peter Everitt 3/05/1974 - 23

Maguire - 21
Riewoldt - 23
Kosistchski - 23
Ball - 21
Dal Santo - 21
