How have the saints been down the bottom of the ladder more years than not in the past 15 years and their midfield is full of plodders and players they’ve traded in like macrae and Steele?

If they’re recruiting philosophy was close your eyes and throw darts they couldn’t be any worse at drafting

They've traded a bunch of early picks for ready made guys that didn't really push the needle that much. Dougal, Ryder, Higgins, Carlisle, Hill. King isn't the dominant KPF he projected to be. McCartin and Goddard were busts. Clark and Coffield have been busts. Their second rounders in that time weren't much chop either. Its real bad drafting.

Pity you can't coach forward line efficiency. It's all to do with the player talent.

I'm led to believe by AFL clubs that kicking a ball through two posts is the only skill based endeavour in the world that can't be improved with an appropriate amount of practice.

2 of our most loved players, DBJ and SPP (lol) would not get a game in the Crows forwardline.

Keays and Neale-Bullen are just so much better in similar roles.

Really shows how far we have to go.

This is wrong on 2 fronts.

1. Who on earth think spp and Dbj are two of our most loved players lol. Dbj is a whipping boy. Both players have been called to be traded here repeatedly as much as anyone on our list

2. In no way are Keays and Neal bullen so much better as players … they’re just in better coached and structured sides.

Swap them around and you would be saying keays has a lot to do to be like Dbj.

There’s been enough evidence over a long enough time to back up what I’m saying.

Tbf it's a strength of the Crows.

Their accurate shots at goal is what makes their forward line potent.

Yeah.

I would argue that our flood and numbers and having to work our asses off just to get a frantic shot on goal or to finally take that mark 40m out after 50 tries puts so much more pressure on our players to kick goals than teams that play open structured styles and often kick to leading forwards ie the crows.

Just getting a shot on goal for us is often like pushing runny shit uphill and then we watch our opponents skate unchecked to an easy leading open mark.

There’s no way anyone can ever convince me that one style doesn’t put tonnes more mental pressure on players than the other.

Compare afl accuracy to nfl kickers accuracy. Those blokes are often kicking to win or lose the game.

Across similar distances (albeit directly in front) they are much more reliable.

I’ve long said that while todays athletes spend more time training than in the past that most of that time would be on fitness etc and I’ll bet my left lung that Georgiades spends much less time during the week kicking at goal than plugger did.

The huge uptick would be that Mitch likely spends twice as much time on fitness and much more
Time on stuff like watching film of games etc analysis etc that they wouldn’t have had in the past.

We’ve done similar with Ratugolea, Lukosius and Soldo.

Why do Crows always kick accurately and why do we always kick inaccurately?

Because we either kick and hope long and then it gets rushed through for a point or we kick to a lead in Row Z and have a shot from the boundary.

Adelaide have always seemed to kick inside 50 using the corridor a lot more than we do.

Marshall got on top of Obrien in the last half.Saved the Saints from a 15 goal loss.

What did Albert Einstein say?
The defenetion of insanity is
To try the same thing over and over and trying to get a different result.
Ken should of retired after the Sydney Preliminary loss.
Its total madness having Ken as senior coach in 2025.
If where bottom 4 mid season. Its time to rebuild the list. That should be the role of a new coach.
