Im honestly not sure about this. The Collingwood game really feels like a "the emprerors not wearing clothes!" moment for a lot of people.

This is the perfect question that should be put to players, especially Boak.

They love him so much but in important games like Finals, you know the must win games to make a GF they make him look like the worst coach in the AFL (because he is) and show him that's how much the playing group really care.

****ing soft media should be asking these questions, if you want him to remain coach, why do you continually let him down when it counts.

The players need to understand that their lack luster performances like the Collingwood game is what's destroying the coach they love so much, not us supporters, it's about time someone said it publicly to the club and players. Weak bastards all of them.

If it's not the coach then it must be the players, maybe the heat should be applied to them, then maybe we will get some truths.

Maybe I just answered my own question, it's all just fluff.

Yep, and that backs against the wall win will be celebrated even if it's against a side who went into the season largely tipped to be wooden spooners, as will no doubt happen against Richmond this week.

Like I kinda get it - what are they meant to say when the media asks them about Ken.

But Jesus, surely you can find a happy medium, non-committal padding statement rather than gushing about the bloke in a completely tone-deaf way after you've been flogged into submission on the weekend.

End of the day, we're the losers for caring I guess :shrug:. And we pay for the privilege.

Yeah I know they have to tow the club line and say we're behind the coach but when we as fans hear them say, we love Kenny so much and we want to do it for Kenny is way over the top.

The sad part is if the players believe what they are saying we have bigger problems than just Ken, do they love him because of the soft atmosphere he creates with lack of consequence for failure, or do they honestly believe he can take them all the way?

They're products of a consequence-free environment where it's been drummed into them internally that being a good person is more important than being successful and ruthless.

Hence, I think they genuinely believe what they are saying, and why everyone at Port seems to get their backs up when held accountable for poor performances.

It goes against everything that's been ingrained in them, so they genuinely think it's unreasonable scrutiny.

I’m personally more annoyed that Donuts is still the coach after failing time and time again and the board have allowed it and endorsed his tenure.

He should have fallen on his sword years ago but here we are in this current circus.

Saying you love the coach only days after you downed tools on him and basically gave up is insulting to anyone with a modicum of intelligence.

Yeah I get why people are frustrated and annoyed and I’m one of those people.

I’m sure the players themselves are sick of being asked about Ken in interviews.

The performance was completely unacceptable - Round 1 you would think the players would be jumping out of their skin to perform, particularly at the MCG.

Still the anger should be directed towards the board and management who have allowed this to go on for so many years when it’s been clear Ken is not the coach who will win us a GF.
 
I'm sure Travis loves his Mum, maybe we should make Chicki Boak our next coach.

Players saying they love their coach is actually something of a red flag. Your coach should be respected not loved.

• I thought the 11-4 to 12-10 slide in 2018 would be.

• I thought the Ben Brown Bowl at the end of 2019 would be.

• I thought the 2021 Prelim would be.

• I thought 0-5 to start 2022 would be.

• I thought straight sets in 2023 would be.

• I thought the 2024 Qualifying Final would be.

My burner is still copping laugh reacts from the usual cucks on Facebook following the Collingwood game.

No result can sway these people. A 200 point loss this week wouldn’t do it. They’d just pivot to it being the players fault, and bemoan associated negativity from the ‘haters’.

2018 was the glaringly obvious point where it became apparent he couldn’t ’coach’ he couldn’t instill confidence in the group or had any idea that may spark the group to swing momentum. We just rocked up each week and copped it…
