Dan Owen was in the 2s in their practice match for missing a couple of sessions.
James Kayrooz (training with Carlton VFL) also had to play in the 2s for their practice match.

Considering half the league went to Europe last year, probably not the worst thing that a club is making their players take a week or two of time in the magoos. Maybe that's the grumpy old bastard in me

I've heard similar. I even heard that he showed up to his house just to spit on his dog too

Think both sides were close to full strength and if Bergs had anyone missing it would have been a couple of their VFL listed players ie Wilson. Also Gilmore only played the second half.

Sounds like it would have been a good game of footy.

Would be cool if there was some sort of local footy premiers comp to get some competitive battles between clubs from different leagues.

Mate you can't do this as a coach, you have to work with players especially talented ones. It just becomes a bunch of Egos ranting at each other like Barrasi and Zantuck. Its not the 1970s any more, you have to work with kids, especially talented ones to get the best out of them. How does he know what is going on in these kids back life, with his parents, girlfriend, mental illnesses, if the kid is on ant-depressants that are subscribed by a doctor. Say Oxycodone

You can't throw the baby out with the bathwater any more.

That is not modern coaching.

Coach is paid to make calls, some may not agree, you certainly don't but his record says he knows more than you and me.

Sometimes wokeness in coaching makes everyone feel good and happy but is not in the interest of actually being a successful club. Time will tell if his approach works but again, his record seems to say he has the right to coach the way he feels.

Also, if you know a Doc prescribing Oxy for depression you may need a new doctor.

Good strong clubs make calls on poor character all the time. Not sure why you think that’s not “modern coaching”

At the top end it is Heidelberg and then daylight as most people would agree.....They are actually stronger this year than 2024.
Hurstbridge looks to have recruited best from the challengers and I reckon West Preston will surprise.
Dont agree that Eltham will finish bottom as they have a couple of good recruits coming in so it is between South Morang & Bundoora for relegation for me. As a Richmond supporter I have seen a lot of Cumberland and if he has a crack he will take the pi$$ at this level.

Strath are one of the stronger clubs in Bendigo footy. Prelim finalists the past 2 seasons and 4 premierships in the short history of the club.
