Pretty ordinary to bring up the reported salary when it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

Williams doesn't come into the line of thinking because he's had 27 touches at nearly 90% efficiency, 9 score involvements, 6 intercepts. A very strong bounce back performance after a quiet season opener.

On the flip side, how does Williams come into your line of thinking? Anything of substance or is it simply a case of 'he's being paid 900k so hE sHoUlD bE dOiNg MoRe'?
Firstly, I don't want Newman dropped. I am just attempting to understand the logic for those WHO WANT him dropped.
Feel free to find a post in the last 2 months of me saying he should be dropped, I say the opposite.

Newman v Williams

Disposals - 19 v 19
Marks - 7 v 5.5
Tackles - 1 v 0.5
Clangers - 3.5 v 3

They have roughly the same stat line in the first two weeks, yet one is constantly abused on this board and the other is not.

Williams is NOT in my line of thinking, NEITHER is Newman, do you understand now?

The reason I tipped swans this week was geelong let Ess have close to 430 disposals they just couldn't move the ball efficiently and have forward connection - so my thinking was you let quality side have that much ball hard to win..
Hawks can't let sides beat them so heavily in disposal, tackles, inside 50's, clearance and expect to win a large number of games on rebound alone -- I thought Port looked poor moving the ball in Pre Season and we're just super pumped for last week but Brisbane seemed to have there number ..
I did tip port tonight though 😄🤭

I’m flummoxed at guessing who goes out, aside from Fogarty.

Cerra & Martin will come in (and Voss🙂); of that I have no doubt.

LOB & Setterfield have been very good on the wing, and, along with Owies, crucial link players. And despite having a modest game, Durdin has been terrific with the pressure.

And I’m really liking TDK’s role and you get the feeling he’s ready to tear a game apart.

So yeah, I have no idea.
Probably worth adding that Fogarty didn’t actually play too poorly. Was involved in some nice chains leading to goals. Ideally he nails those crumbing goals from a few meters out even though ball was moving slightly awkwardly away from him.

Keep it simple - Cerra for Fog and Young for OMac (if needed).

FB - Docherty, McDonald, McGovern

HB - Saad, Weitering, Williams

M - O’Brien, Cripps, Cerra

HF - Durdin, C. Curnow, Fisher

FF - Owies, McKay, Silvagni

FOL - Pittonet, Hewett, Walsh

I/C - De Koning, Newman, Kennedy, Setterfield

SUB - Newnes

EMG - Young, Dow, Boyd

INJ - Stocker, Marchbank, Cuningham, Honey

That's not a bad idea, I had a wingman going out but we have midfielders who can play forward. Kennedy and Cerra can.

I reckon Walsh would be a handful off a half forward flank the way he runs both ways at speed and can just play footy at a super high level. If we push him high up the field and he uses his running ability to run hard back towards goal he could be a real weapon. Would run the hell off some poor defender. Could also sit Cripps forward a little more, he's been deadly drifting forward this year, been kicking a heap of goals.

Out: Fogarty, Owies (unlucky)
In: Cerra, Martin

Fisher plays more forward to replace Fog. Cerra takes Fisher’s midfield from last week.

Martin replaces Owies. Really unlucky but Martin is class and he just has to play.

Leaves us with Durds, Fish, Martin up forward/half forward. Strong.

I'm going to my first game this season. Where's my fu**en ticket?

Carlton App > Mobile Membership > Log in with your email & password (Carlton Acc) > Tickets will be there.

Save to Apple Wallet or Android Google Pay thingy.

Available 96hrs before each game.

The Bulldogs are a much better side than Port. And Port missing lots of players.
I think Vossy and the team have the right system to beat Hawks.
I think we should be too strong.
Go Blues

Ports was missing a swag of walk up starts - Dixon, Gray, Aliir (AA), Fantasia, Bergman, Duursma (listed but surely wounded).

Was still a shocker of a performance.

Martin replaces Fog (who replaced him).

Cerra in for Setters or LOB.

If OMac isn't right, Young has to come in for him.

Cerra no doubt comes in. Fogarty will make way for him.

Martin is going to be the tough/tricky one.

I don't think Owies should go out he was better than Durdin but I also don't want to see Corey get dropped either.

It's another test for this group. Before last night, I thought the test was to perform when strong favourite. But now the test is a bit different - perform against a developing side that's in impressive form. I love what we've seen so far. A really strong win here will confirm what I really hope to be true - that we could do anything this year

Not sure why you’re going on about Newman. Has nothing to do with my post.

No posts over the past few months calling for someone to be dropped? That’s great, but it would be odd if there were such posts given the season started last week.

Still not sure why you bothered bringing up his salary. Nobody does that unless it’s a part of the point they’re trying to make.
