Hawks absolutely mauling Port at home, will probably put 20 goals on them. This is not going to be a walk in the park for us.

Sicily, Frost and DGB position very well and intercept regularly. Need to make sure we’re not just dropping bombs on McKay and Curnow’s heads all game.

Wingard was subbed with a hammy before half time so odds are he probably won’t play against us.

Very unique and efficient side. Port have had a heap of the ball and smashing them in clearances but they seem to setup so well that it doesn’t matter.

They set up well behind the ball. The quartet of Frost, Sicily, DGB and McEvoy mopped up everything tonight and suffocated the Port forward line.

I’ll back our midfield to beat theirs, but how we use the ball forward of centre will determine the outcome.

This game just got interesting.

Should be on Friday night to reflect the form of both teams. That will show the AFL making scheduling decisions on last years form.

Anyway, I still believe we’ve got this but anyone thinking this was going to be a % boost might need to temper their expectations.

Top of the table clash!!

Mitchell Lewis, Scrimshaw....doing very well atm.

Game of the Round!!! Who woulda thought that 2 weeks ago?!

I love it. I am thrilled we're going to get a massive crowd next week.

Play a Carlton v Hawks game on Sunday 1:10pm! How dare you AFL!

This Hawks performance doesn't scare me. In fact it excites me.

Hawks will see next week we're another Level to Port. They cannot allow us to dominate the midfield like they are allowing Port. Our midfield and forward is far too good to play that style.

Port without Voss is an average team.

Have to negate Jiath run. Gunston has always been an awkward match up for us. Gov?

Dorks seem to be on a mission to prove the doubters wrong. No time like the present to beat that out of them.
Gunston (and Breust) always kick goals against us. I like the idea of Gov playing on Gunston. Also Weitering will have his hands full with Lewis.

2 good matches coming up for us. hawks are no push overs and doubt suns will be too.

At the start of the season, I would have been happy to be going into this game 1 & 1 with some confidence that we'll beat the Hawks.

Crazy start to the year with this game looking like it'll be a ripper, likewise our game against the Suns. Hanging for next Sunday!

I didn't see the game but have seen, how did the Hawks manage to win so convincingly? They got smashed in the clearances yet won pretty easily
They smoked Port in transition from the backline and their forward line was super efficient.

They’ve got a very good back half with Sicily, CJ, Hardwick and Scrimshaw but I think Frost and Grainger Barrass can be exposed.

We should beat them in the middle so it may be a similar sort of game stats wise to tonight however we have much better weapons up forward than Port did tonight so they won’t be able to intercept mark with the likes of Harry, Charlie, TDK and Sos floating around.

Hawks are just playing a refined brand of what Clarkson had been doing for years: playing off the counter, setting up to control the flow out from the clearance instead of trying to brute force things.

Hawks lost the clearances by an enormous margin - particularly at the centre bounce - and then had as much time in possession despite being -74 for disposals.

Just swept it down the other end for lots of set shots... not sure how Port kept falling for that.
