Surprised to hear multiples of 100 are very difficult for Aussies.
Not hard just unnecessary

Most punters would be placing a wager of less than $100 for starters

Do you think having the odds in multiple of $100 makes more sense than in a multiple of $1? honest question

It's such a stupid way of doing it.
$30 bet at +700 so you gotta times it then divide it to get your winnings instead of $30 at $7 which just multiple to get your winnings.

Americans didn’t “grow up” wagering on sports in $1 increments. A dollar ($100) was the standard wager with your local bookmaker. With the advent of legalized sports wagering over the last decade, and the apps that come along with it, it’s now possible/common, to put $6 on the outcome of the event. But Joey Merlino wasn’t taking $4 wagers.

I remember finding out the hard way here that oh NFL bets, if you bet head to head but the team wins by less than 3 it counts as a drawn bet and you lose lol

There is no way that can be possible. They wouldnt be in business.

The R15 game against Brisbane will arguably be more interesting than the potential playoff for the minor premiership in R23, v curious to see how they go against us at the MCG. We’ve actually only played them there seven times this century, with a 6-1 record to us (the loss being the R1 game in 2012 after Jim Stynes died).

Brisbane are actually 0-6 at the MCG under Fagan - of course they were crap until 2019, and have only played two games there since (against Essendon and Richmond when they finished top 2 in 2019), both of which were comprehensive losses.

They have two games there this year v Richmond and us, which will be critical in tuning up for the GF if they make it. Ideally we keep Fagan winless there.

Spoke to my dad the other day as hd pulled out from going to the game on Friday. He complained that we don't pump anyone anymore, then said except in finals when you want to. Then mention the Brisbane vs North game and said when Melbourne play North we'll scrape a 3 goal win over them. It's as if we didn't just win the premiership last year. I suppose 57 years of misery you want to pump everyone by 100.

Geelong only had one really big win in the first half of 2008, they only really started pumping teams late in the year. Not that it ended well for them but I expect we’ll be the same.

Yeah I remember in 08, Melbourne copped hawthorn, the western and Geelong. While hawthorn and the Bulldogs beat us by 98 and 95 points Geelong beat us by a lazy 30 points. Of course later in the year it was a lazy 116. I still have nightmares watching Melbourne finally getting a break in the first half and Simon Buckley decided to take a bounce after it had been pouring all night.

Love your dad, greedy bastard like me. Winning is nice but it would be great if we could play so exciting footy while doing it rather than grinding out 2 to 4 goal wins.

Hard to get decent commentary on us at the moment. Just banking boring wins. Nothing sexy about the premiers beating teams by 3 goals.

I preferred this time last year when we were the worst unbeaten side of the AFL era.

Yep, all about Carlton right now from a winners perspective and the messes at Port , Richmond, Norf and West Coast.

I'd rather it be this way, TBH. Take all the attention away from us, put in on other clubs and let chaos ensue.

Remember when The Western smashed Norf, had an absurd % after that, got a huge sugar rush and then they got shown up by decent sides? Rather have a sustainable and boring year.

Carlton's wins starting to look less impressive as the season unfolds, Richmond round 1, Richmond now looking bog average, the Bulldogs terribly inaccurate, hawthorn outplayed them for three quarters.

How long can their sugar rush last though?

Suns(Rd 4): ???(Suns can be damaging @ MS pre-bye)
Power(Rd 5): PW
Dockers(Rd 6): PL

Could be 5-1 after 6 maybe 6-1 after Norf in Rd 7.

True, but wins are wins, and Carlton of recent years would've lost all pretty easily. Their defence is still fragile, but their midfield is much stronger this year and with a fit Curnow their forwardline looks much more dangerous.
