OSCAR Allen's looming return has been delayed with West Coast offering no timeline as it opts for a "conservative approach" with the injured young key forward.

Lol ffs....
Just more evidence that something is wrong with how our players are managed.

Sack our whole football department mostly strength and conditioning and medical that can't seem to workout how to handle injuries. There job to get them right the first time. Seems they can't get one player right these days. Always a setback on every injury we get.

Also if Oscar Allen isn't expected back till mid season might aswell wrap him up and call time on his season and comeback for 2023 season. By mid season we will be well and truely finished as far as finals are concerned and don't need to play Allen at all.

  • The senior player(s) that has a surprise injury that will be revealed on Thursday when teams are named.

how did you know

I have a doctor friend who has started in the Eagles medical team this year.

They are slowly trying to turn over the staff in that department but they are so damn loyal and ‘jobs for the boys’ etc.

I don’t rate our department at all, but it has been recognised internally as an area that needs change. Will take time unfortunately.

This shits me to tears. Honestly who cares if we upset a few medicos, our whole squad have been layed off for extended periods over the last season and a bit. They are f’en incompetent, get rid of them! Brisbane have got 1 injury on their list ffs meanwhile we’ve had 2 old man calf injuries to a couple of young players in a week! We don’t pay memberships to watch these idiots

I think S&C/Medical across the AFL is a bit of an old boys club. Just look at some of the elite international comps in depth. But WC are a shining light and it runs through the entire club. Some time you have to break something and start fresh to improve.

This wouldn't shock me even in the slightest.

We could have the same S&C/Medical team for 40 years and no one would care as long as we didn’t have the worst injury list and recovery times of every club year after year. These off field departments should be the first to be shaken up for not performing without hesitation and we should be using some of our extra cash to get it done. Pay the tax to bring in whoever we need - we’re rich enough. The players aren’t getting a good run at it with whoever is running the show atm.

This is going back a few years but I once saw a doctor who had worked for many years at West Coast about persistent knee soreness from years of jogging.

Absolutely NFI. Just went through the standard leg movements that a run of the mill physio would have you do. He charged a pretty penny too.

Is Dixon an automatic in for you guys once fit?
If we had a full squad then probably not. He'd be behind NicNat (obviously) as ruck and probably Williams as second ruck/forward or definitely OAllen as second ruck/forward if we continue to use him that way.
As a forward he'd be behind Kennedy, Darling and Allen (and possibly Waterman) as a tall.

So he wouldn't get a game as a ruck or a forward or a ruck/forward if everyone was available.

Full fit squad he'd be in the best 25-30 group.
