From what we've seen of him he should be, has surprising confidence and follow-up agility after the tap for a supplementary ruckman.
Has already shown more than Bailey Williams (although he is older). Personally I'd take him before Waterman too.

Even when Allen is back, well JK is gone by the end of this season so he may still have a permanent home.

Kinda crazy how 2 of our SSP players in Naish and Dixon already have cracked into the best 22.
Amazing how players will have a crack when they have no credits with the coach

Bit of guesswork in this one. Luke Edwards with deloading means at least a month for him. Zac getting assessed could mean 3 weeks but if it's yet another syndesmosis that's 2-3 months. Rioli sounds like a standard hammy of 3 weeks. X O'Neill sounds like a worry that knee could be yet another long-term. Haven't heard that Jamieson and Foley were back at training. Yeo being out for 2 weeks with concussion is worrying. Joyce is complete guesswork.

We are tanking so I'm amazed they haven't rushed him back
You don't have to tank when you're this crap.

We can lose by 10+ goals without taking our best players off the ground, without creating obvious out of position/height mismatches in favour of the other team, without selecting fringe players when we have stars available etc.

If I'm being honest, with our injuries, our Covidity, our lack of access to decent draft picks, our excess of overage, overpaid and slowing, injury prone, past their best aged players, it is no surprise we are where we are on the ladder. And not having the injuries or Covid would merely paper over the cracks a bit by making the losses slightly less bad.

First, i ma
Come on mate. There is staying fit and staying AFL level fit.

23 of our players have had covid since the start of the season.

Did you go and play or train at an AFL level after isolating? How did your hammies pull up?

I thought I made the point re COVID pretty clear. I am and was not a close contct - lockdown restructions for a month or so at 5 or 10 km from home isnt a restriction to maintaining fitness and I have a good setup at home. My hammies wrereand are fine.

It seems the epicenter of the global pandemic is now at Lathlain Park.

The main point I was making was about player personal responsibility. I assume for example that the fatties are not force fed by the club. Mobility and flexibility can be worked on alone.

Ainsworth a chance?

Interesting they mention getting specialist opinions for Oneil and Langdon. Are we outsourcing our injuries now?
Maybe this is a sign the club has lost trust with the strength and conditioning team. The number of hammer and ankle injuries is concerning and players are not returning quickly from them.

Yeo is a big worry. The concussion didn't even look that bad, so hopefully they are being really cautious after Shep and Venners.

Poor bloke, I really hope he can get some games later in the season and started getting back to some form.

He was on radio this morning and he seemed in pretty good spirits.

Said the criteria he had to meet was to be back running within a couple of days of sustaining the concussion and he wasn't quite there early last week.

Was doing some running at training on Monday so hopefully he's right for the Melbourne game.

Not sure if this has been posted about Chesser's return to training, doing light drills: Campbell Chesser returns to Eagles nest

They've been very tight lipped about his injury (to the surprise of absolutely no one on this board), but I think it was Daisy Pearce who mentioned in her commentary of the Richmond game that he had undergone an ankle reconstruction. First I had heard of that.

But good to see him back at training at least! That is faster than I expected.

Just dont compare what you did and were fine with what an elite AFL player needs to do to 1. Stay fit and 2. Not injure yourself ramping back up and playing.

It's like comparing a race horse to a plough horse.

I have a feeling that he won't be captain next year either way. Hard for him to lead from the bench.
Exactly. Shouldn’t have been captain this year, he hasn’t been able to play or train at any normal levels for three years?
Captains should be out there setting standards at training and during games. Not his fault, but should have been tapped on the shoulder.

I think this preseason probably made that impossible. Couldn't add more change to the chaos.

The players choose the captain so blame them
