Training guernseys - JPK and Sinclair in the baby blue suggesting they are not in the final 22.

Would expect Bell to be sub as Stephens didn't have a VFL game last week to play. Would assume they would want him to get to play in the curtain raiser.
Yeah, I'd be keeping Sincs and Bell out of VFL as they've either played recently or don't have anything to prove. Gould and Stephens need the games. If we lost a key defender in the warm up then we'd just have to bring Sincs in, make sure Reid is back.

Probably right.
Sinkers, Gould, Bell and Stephens dropped off.
Think we got it as right as we could given the concussions.
Reid can float. Heeney and Hayward will need to support Bud and Big Mac. Paps and Ronke to buzz around.

Very interesting choices. Going to be interesting to see where JPK and Reid play.

It would be so Horse to play Papley in the middle, Reid as back, and Kennedy as a forward.

Wouldn't surprise if Blakey is given more defensive responsibilities either. i.e. help out on a resting ruck, but also hurt them off the resting ruck.

he has the height and agility to at least cause any resting ruck problems, and certainly would just run away from them in possession ...

It really does show that Melican has dropped down the pecking order when one of JPK or Reid goes to the backline as a replacement for Paddy. Last year would be a direct swap for sure. Fallen out of favour with the match committee it looks like.

In the context of the opponent, these changes make most sense. It has been mentioned a few times about Reid's lack of recent time as a defender and also him performing poorly at the start of his career as a key defender. I think this would be an issue if he was opposing Daniher but I'm confident he should comfortably account for Fort / McInerney. Papley is a big in for us. Hoping he's not too rusty.

I think this is the first time, this year, that our VFL side has played a curtain raiser?
We will know the teams medical subs at 1:05 pm

Sometimes at footy clubs players who have a lot of time out need game time to get confidence back in their body and form .
