Well that's it... I've watched the video on El Nour and he seems like such a well spoken and likeable kid. I can't help but hope we pick him up now.

Sounds like he can actually play though, which is a significant bonus. Was listed as 192cm but they reckon he might be a smidge taller and he has those Dustin Fletcher-esque Inspector Gadget arms.

He played against us in the VFL game a few weeks back, looked alright but nothing that great. I think if you can nab a player in this draft who makes a career out of its a big bonus, some of these guys are getting more wraps on them than they've ever had in the lives.

These Sudanese boys can take time. And if he’s still growing at 20 it shows he probably has development left in him

If there are no sliders on the night… I’m hoping we take him at 9 🤞

Of the two he looks more assured and a better prospect than Kallan Dawson… who looked very ordinary to me in the VFL vs Footscray last weekend

Forget he was there

He was only on their list as a soft cap dodge ( like Goldsack at Port)…. Now that they are stone motherless second last I think they have decided players are more important than coaches. Plus they just had three administrators leave so they probably have tons of room in their soft cap!!!!!!!

Garoni from Werribee might be in the frame. I’m assuming he’s listed for the draft.

No Schlensog, Hammelmann or Keitel.
I’d hope not but I don’t think he’s nominated so a moot point.
Maybe those players simply didn't need to nominate. This article suggests that:

Then there's this one from a year ago:

So perhaps none of those mentioned had to bother? Marty Hore was delisted at the end of 2021, so it seems he would automatically be eligible. What I find confusing is that I'd say all the players who are being talked about as a chance to be selected tomorrow night have nominated, yet surely some of them would have nominated for last year's National Draft.

Edit: Garoni, Hammelmann, Keitel and Schlensog all nominated for the 2021 National Draft.

I know for a fact we are extremely keen on El Nour, I was the one who first said we were talking to him.

I’d be quite comfortable with that selection.

Someone on EB&W suggesting we are extremely keen on El Nour
Unsurprising given he was involved with our VFL squad a couple of years ago and has the potential to fill a long-term need. Reads the ball well and still has some filling out to do but I would be happy with him. Moore, Howe, Murphy and El Nour are all seriously good intercept players.

Not on the list of nominees so assume nobody is taking him.
It does seem that he wouldn't have had to nominate since he was delisted at the end of 2021, and should automatically be eligible for selection. Players who nominated for last year's National Draft (and weren't selected) also are eligible (my post up the page a bit should cover the eligibility rules).
