We have too many small forwards on the list, Zac's best value to the club is to be traded for a couple of first rounders or a quality big-bodied mid.

Wholeheartedly disagree.

That's a big No.

Zac has all the tools to break open the midfield in the near future. Burst speed, evasive, doesn't mind taking on players in a contest - just that he's getting caught out too often at the moment. He'll hit a phase where those shrugs and don't argue's will be on-point and the AFL will be raving about him.

We'll regret big time if we ever choose to let him go.

We'll get over it when we've got nick larkey or ldu.

Will you get over it if Zac turns out to be Dusty-like?
That's the potential I'm talking about.
He will never be Dusty like in my opinion.

Different type of player but still has potential to be an outstanding player of the future. He has a lot to learn but is still young approaching his 23rd birthday in a few weeks.

I think everyone is tradeable at the right price but Zac is not someone you'd trade if you're in contention for a flag because players with X Factor are rare. At his age you'd want the best trade of all time

And if you were going to do it do it when he's a slam dunk AA not when he's in a form slump.

In my opinion, players who are around next season or not is irrelevant to this season. We play our best 22 pretty much from here on in and worry about next year once this season is done.
Agreed.

I remember his dad used to post on here and then quit when his son got delisted, lol.

He was still around Bigfooty this year even if not posting - and why would we expect him to keep hanging around our particular corner of the AFL universe after Nick was moved on? No lol'ing needed and he was great value while he was here.

If he was great value he wouldn't have been delisted, lol. How's old Nick anyway any news what he's doing now?

sigh - I was referring to his dad the poster ... who was indeed good value on our board.

If you are really interested in what Nick is doing now check out his roster watch thread.

He is a loyal club man and has every right to enjoy big money to finish out his career if he wants to.
Im confused, how do you say McStay or any player is loyal if they leave? Doesnt sound like they are loyal at all. John Brown, Dan Rich, Zorko, Simon Black, Rob Copeland, Darryl White etcetra - that is loyalty to me.

Someone I know on the Coast says that Dan and Zac are very close, so I have no doubt Zac will likely request a trade in a year or two. Looking very very a far, since the news about Dan leaving has come out, Zac doesnt look happy at all and his form has gone out the window. Perhaps a very long bow but since was told that, I cant see Zac being a one club player either.

Interesting you should say that.

He has had many serious offers over the years to leave yet has stuck with us. These were during our dark years too no less. Yet, despite very good offers he stayed. The only reason he may be leaving now is due to the 500+ thousand dollars extra he will get if he does. Would you turn that down?

He has been very loyal to the club and given the money on offer I can't blame him if he takes it. I would.

PErsonally, I would, but Im driven by different things.

Nonetheless, I still dont understand how you claim Dan is being loyal to the club and yet is turning his back on the club when it needs him. Thats not loyalty - not even close.

Was Luke Hodge loyal to the Hawks?
