A win's a win. Was hard going, and wasn't pretty. But we came through against an Eagles side that has got better over the last few games. Hopefully that gives them some confidence, but on the evidence of today I'm not confident of the last few tough games.

But let's see. Hawks will be tougher than the first time we played them this year.

Butler got few cheapies but 5 straight was back to 2020 form. Snags worked his arse off too. They just replayed the goals and he was involved in a lot of them.

Gees kicking straight works a treat doesn't it?

Some good performances all over the field - hopefully we can pump the Hawks next week and build some momentum.

as long as the boys arent delusional about what this win means. They should know that this win was scrappy, ugly, flawed and review the everloving shit out of it, use the confidence to then hit the training track hard and win the rest of the games for the season

a real test of the coaches will be to see how they spin this. a "we finally won all is good again in the world" will build complacency but framing it as the "confidence booster" we need to build into actually good form is what we need to drive improvement in the group.

Ben Long 20 pressure acts, second in the side (behind Steele on 21).

I can see why they like him but when he only has 5 touches, does that make up for it?

I thought we looked awful but it was wet turf and low confidence. Our forward line worked a lot better with a good spread of goal scorers. King wasn't the only target which was nice.

Coops after I gave him a spray ended up being very solid after half time.

Just saw we won all the stats led at every change and frees 26-19 to WCE.

Really something needs to be done by the club.
This is almost corruption.

The one stat we are really bad at is goals.

Unfortunately you don't win a game with the most hitiouts.

the dan butler question isn't it?

but the answer from the fanbase is yes. I could find you maybe 10 posts saying "Long in as the medical sub again, our most impactful player already" and others like that.

Only saw the first qtr. We worked hard but our system was terrible. Did we stop bombing it into the 50?

Sort of, we don't set up like a normal side. They don't have set plays at stoppages, it looks like a free for all where everyone goes at one ball. We aren't going to frighten anyone coming into finals.
