Thought I'd pop in to get a sense of your optimism and I'm surprised the majority don't seem confident.

I rate your midfield the best in the comp currently and you should smash us in clearances

I get that Hawk and Cameron will likely kick their share, they do even against the best anyway. This will be won in the midfield I think, I just hope our backline can absorb enough of your inside 50s.

Will be close I think!

Most in here seem to think that playing one single player over another determines the outcome of our games.

Is the cats selection thread a circus like this every Thursday?

I'm not sure that who we select as the 22nd best player is the difference between winning and losing. Neither McComb nor McNeil are winning or losing the game for us. Team effort, discipline and an effective game plan will be more important.
Somebody needs to be the fall guy and it sure as shit aint gonna be one of the big names on the list.

None of whom have the dubious honour of having every single one of their disposals put under the microscope and dissected during and after every game.

The amount of moaning that McComb draws in here is just another example of how little the huffing and puffing of this place effects the real world.

I can't say the changes thrill me, but the commitment we showed as a team does. Need to stick to structures and whatever the plan is.

This week my own gameplan is not to melt, here or in the game day thread. Hopefully I stick to my plan!

I am quietly confident. Go you good things. :bulldogs::largeredcircle::mwcirlce::largebluecircle: Woof, woof, woof!

The usual posters will absolutely melt at team selections over changes every week. The more anger and more melting usually means we are a decent chance to win (see last week's thread against the Dees :D). I've learned this is just how some people vent and get their pre game nerves out so I just laugh now.

But yeah besides Treloar and Duryea, we are pretty much full strength and have a decent shot this week. Being at GMHBA stadium, in form Cats and Selwood's 350th I think you guys will be too good but you never know... Good luck

Cats have the best forward line in the comp. It doesn't matter who we select in our backline I can't see how we can hold them all. Cordy's been solid in the VFL but against either Cameron or Hawkins, he would need to play out of his skin. Stengle, Rohan, Miers and Danger all have the potential to kick multiple goals too. Our mids will need to work hard to help the defence and keep 1 on 1s to a minimum. Cats are flag favourites at present so a win on their Kardinia Park rectangle would be one for the ages.

Looks like Gardner takes Hawkins, Cordy takes Cameron, Buku takes Rohan. Does not instil confidence of keeping them to a losing score. Surely the Neil Mc is better than the Comb Mc but would be including Hunter in front of both.

Cordy and Gardiner did OK in last year’s PF without Keath. McComb may be in as it will be more contested at KP on Saturday night. A bit surprising but there may be some logic in these changes.

When your 22nd player is a net negative on the team and makes costly turnovers every touch then yeah it can be the difference in a close game, especially the way we play which is so reliant on error free precision footy and completely prone to being cut up if we turn the footy over. Put it this way, the team will be better off this week if McComb just comes on as a rotation but has zero touches, then we would be if he has 15-20.

Cordy will take Hawkins he’s more physical and will be similar to Dixon in the prelim. Hunter has be shite with the ball and defensively

I’ve got no problem with Keath getting dropped, but I do have a problem with Cordy coming in . The dude will be ragdolled all night. Jones next year will be a good start, possible another kpd and we won’t be in this situation.

Keath should be listed as managed and should be rested. if he plays VFL I would be surprised and it would be amateur hour by the MC (Bevo).

McNeil was ok last week and could only see him dropped for MCLean who has been consistently good in the VFL.

Bevo ‘s love for Robbie is huge and he has been promised a coaching job when delisted In 3 years.

Feel for Toby, played 5 good games now and no call up while Bruce gets 2 cheap possessions and keeps his place.

Yeah ideally he goes to a less dangerous fwd in my mind so he is able to help come off and intercept / spoil when the big boys are wrestling, but we'll see...
I agree it's a big deficiency in our back line.

I thought Roarke might be able to fill a gap there but that's clasping at straws.

It's often a lot worse.
