I can tell my dog to rollover and he does it. Maybe he learnt it from this lot of dogs watching the GF and last nights 3rd quarters unlike my dog this lot will not get a tummy pat.

Agree hoping you include the Ruck in the centre bounce mids?I truly believe we need a midfield coach who after 2-3 centre bounce losses needs to run the message that all our centre bounce mids just need to tag for 1-3 stoppages. Just to make sure we at very worst force a repeat stoppage and take the heat away from our defence.
Too often you see opposition marching the ball out the front of the centre bounce causing maximum pressure. And once they get a roll in there is basically nothing we can do to stop it until the qtr is over.
yeah, i think the no tag or team tag policy needs to changeThe coach is just as culpable as the players, perhaps even more so. When things slip away there just doesn't appear to be any meaningful change of tactic to arrest the opponent's momentum. It's like watching Ground Hog Day as the same problems are repeated time and time again. For a coach whose mantra is flexibility we don't seem to have the flexibility to adapt strategies during a game. I'm no tactician and can't offer much insight, but after so many performances where we become hopelessly inept at preventing huge momentum swings, I reckon our coach may not be good one either.
yeah, he lifted against Melbourne after another ordinary start, but this week confirms there's something not right,You have to wonder if Macrae has an injury or is playing sore...

i feel West has surpassed Libba as our more ferocious, determined and toughest small/mid. His tackles are bone crunching and has great agility. But that's pretty much bang on what happened. They were overpowered and smashed by a core group of Selwood, Danger, Steglar, Blicavs, Guthrie, Duncan and Atkins who wanted it more and that was the game.
As talented as our midfield can be, they haven't wanted it badly enough or gone hard long enough to go with the hard nosed professionalism of the likes of the Cats.
Gardener looked like Chris Grant compared to Hannan and McComb. He stood up, took some solid marks and kept fighting it out in a defence that was left badly exposed.
You’re having a laugh if you think Gardner was bad tonight or was in any way at fault for the loss.
Bevo does have 1 strategy when the oppo get a run on, he tries to send one back and break the 6/6/6 rule, and we get a warning from the umpire. The thread should be called Scott owns Bevo Yet again.
Ed great, Cordy and Gardner were ok. Yes a couple of mistakes but Gardner took his career best mark and deserves his spot. Has improved. Bont getting injured hurt us.
The coach has a lot of explaining to do about why there is no defensive strategy when teams get a run on. He is like a dear frozen in headlights.
Not sure why West was not given a go in the centre. you know he will give 110% and can lay a tackle
We'll learn from this loss...and do the same ****ing thing in a couple of weeksTotally agree, force each and every one to watch both quarters Clockwork Orange style.
Once again, we were embarrassed, more than that, we were humiliated, bullied, smashed, beaten up, walked over. Geelong did as they pleased in the third and we just bent over and took it up the wazoo yet again. Weak, weak and weak. Weak on field and weak in the coaches box.
We shouldn't be thinking at 26-0 up that we're going to get beaten here. We should be confident about winning and winning well. But such is the mental and physical weakness of our side, we just know what's going to inevitably happen.
Until we start getting serious about selection and stop selecting 3-4 players who are no more than VFL standard at best, we'll go nowhere. Until we have leaders who stand up in quarters like the third and the GF and fight back, we'll go nowhere. Until we play a team that has a proper physical presence across the whole ground, we'll go nowhere. Until we have a senior coach with a Plan B, C, D, E and who demands results, we'll go nowhere.
I'm as angry as I was about the GF tonight. That was pissweak that third quarter. I can't believe how easily we just laid down. Each and every player and coach should be humiliated and embarrassed, but will they be? Doubt it. Instead we'll get the usual Beveridge platitudes and 'We have to get better' stubborn type guff and excuses.
Seriously, I want our club and our team to have a backbone. To show fight, to show heart and never give up, tonight we gave up. Like I said, weak on and off the field.

Every suburban club I’ve ever been at has a rule lose two centre bounces in a row you lock down.
We continually roll the dice whether that’s through arrogance I don’t know but our midfield is definitely not what we, the club and footy media make it out to be
it was probably a plan to go through others more last night, it worked for a quarterIs Bruce being back in disrupting Naughton.
We targeted him once inside forward 50 last night.
We are certainly targetting JUH more (which is fair enough because he's looking more likely), but I just don't think we went through Aaron much last night, certainly nowhere near the extent we have in the past.

Both Gardner and Cordy were good. Any hate coming their way is from those trying to confirm their own preconceptions.Gardner was very good I thought. Under a massive amount of pressure and played well. I just don't get the hate on here from some. Baffling.

So when it started going bad, and he wasn't getting a kick, he should have been swung to defence. No flexibility displayed by Bevo. Disappointing, but we'll learn from itit was probably a plan to go through others more last night, it worked for a quarter
how can nothing be le learned after the third qtr GF debacle?

Summary of Bevo's Pressor
Cats came with a powerplay in 3rd quarter and we couldnt match it. This has happened a few times to us recently. When it does its because it becomes a test of strength, power, and endurance, and we are a little lacking in that area. Said it was largely due to powerful mids taking over, in this case Danger, said he hadnt done that in a while so we were a bit stiff he pulled that out on us, but said you just have to dip your hat. When we got it back we turned it over.
Reading between the lines he's suggesting that our bad fades are the result of the Cripps, Petracca, Danger types getting hold of us in the centre square, and apart from Bont we dont have a player/s to go with them athletically
Said the key backs were good but the defence as a whole not so good (hopefully he means Hannan)
Said they'd assess where Bruce is at during the week
Said JUH was very good
Treloar maybe miss one more but is close
