i just dont want to paper over the cracks that will see us hovering around the good but not good enough mark.

is dunkley the answer? should we hit the draft hard?

Dunkley mcKay ennough?
Until we have a new coach it doesn’t matter who port trade in IMO.

What’s the go with Sexton at the Suns?

Always seemed a dangerous forward in the rare Suns games I watch and going back 12-24 months he was a regular 2/3 goal a game forward before seemingly falling into the abyss.

Kicked nearly 40 goals in 19 and another strong year in 20 before being out of favour.

Any interest up forward? Don’t imagine he’d cost more than a 3rd/4th or super fringe player.

He’s 28 so only has a couple years left but allows time to develop another forward.

Sheesh sounds like he actually plays games .

How's Mum's cooking Orazio?

Honestly, out of the Rowe/McHenry/Murphy triumvirate of spuddery, if I had to pick one I'd pick Rowe. He's the only one who's at least shown glimpses of competence. Seems to be the least in favour of the three though, which surprises me.

I'm not even close to objective when it comes to this little ducking and diving turd. Over looking his parentage I even hate his face.

Even with this "war chest" there aren't any decent out-of-contract players who instantly make us a better side. Jamie Elliot would have been the one but he has re-signed.

We could spend it on big names coming in (Grundy) but we'd have to give up so much draft capital which will hinder our chances of luring someone next year (JHF, etc.).

Swings and roundabouts with trades. We did get Alir and Finlayson without giving up much. Clearly won those two trades by a fair margin.

Way too early to tell on Josh Sinn. Pretty hard to impress when you've been struck down with OP all of your first season.

I don't think ladhams has done a real lot at Sydney as of yet but it's still only early on that one.

I actually agree with you…. Ladhams has only played 11 games this season and has been helped by effective coaching and a mature midfield. He also wasn’t the first choice ruck at the beginning of the season. It would have been interesting to see if he got any games if Naismith didn’t get injured.

Way too early to make a call on Sinn. Hopefully he can have a solid pre-season and hit the ground running next year

Naismith makes Orazio look like ironman and will surely retire at the end of the year, so nah not really.

I know it’s a risk but so was Stengel and he’s come on well
But Degoey would help fill that small forward plus extra mid spot and wouldn’t cost anything draft wise

If we can’t recruit a key back, but could get Grundy for a second rounder using our war chest of cash.

I reckon Dixon could extend his career by playing a few years as a big full back. Would be that Big body we crave for. Would only take one pre-season to get him skilled up.

Then allows Marshall, Georgi, Finlayson (2nd ruck) forwardline.

Dixon could easily head forward at random times to terrorise opposition/late in quarters, etc

I’ve seen nothing to suggest that Dixon would make a good fb and can’t see how that prolongs his career.

He’s also older than the old key defenders we need to replace, so as a stop gap it makes no sense.

But the bullet and draft a few guys and develop them ready to be a part of the team when rozee, butters etc are firing.

I can't think of anything worse than Dixon at full back. He'll try to one hand mark the ball, drop it, and the other team will crumb easy goals. It'll be basically what we are now, but with Dixon.

Imagine the free kicks he would have paid against him.
