Like you say, those numbers are more than respectable.

Just as importantly, though, to watch some of the grabs he took and (some of) his kicking at goal told you everything you need to know about his ceiling as a player. Seriously talented, at a level well beyond the brother we all love already.

If he wants to come, it would rank as 'borderline silliness' on our part not to make it happen.

His defensive game needs work but i believe that can be improved. He has a lot of high end afl traits. He wouldnt be my first choice purely because id be chasing mids and a ruck for our list but if he wants to come home no doubt we will chase him

Didn't even realise young Bailey was ooc. Maybe he is coming down the highway

Hes been ooc all year (finished 3rd in their b & f for the record) and has a contract offer from north. Might just be holding off to see if he can extract more $ from them but could well be going and not announcing til after GF.

I dont have that view (and i doubt the club would either) its all about whether he fills a list need or not at the right price.

Id say they would look at Scott in the same way as any other kid similar to him if they showed they were interested. Is he worth trading for . cost etc etc. The last I saw , I thought he was becoming comfortable at the level and would probably make a good run with type. What would he cost us?

I have a weakness for goal kickers so id love to add kid with Herny's type of potential... I would say we have recruited guys before we have needed them before..its what we sort did with Henderson. This year we look at our side ..and struggle to see where he would fit but it was not that long ago ..and we were saying that about ZacG. Form and maturity He is 20. If we picked him at pick him up for p20ish ..could we really think there was someone better in the draft than him at that range?

I'm with you, TC. You're bringing in a very talented player who can and will impact the scoreboard, and becomes a basically zero flight risk overnight.

So a deal approximating his original pick position seems absolutely fine to me, given his many years of footy ahead and the reality that you can never have enough players with true goal sense at your club.

I agree with valuing goal kickers. Defensive duties can be taught, goal and forward sense can’t. Rohan missed a big chunk of the season and isn’t getting younger. Henry would get games next season but it is the seasons after that the club want him for.

Rohan is hardly a guy like Blitz.. History says he is no certainty to play 22 games next year. A year of insurance is not such a bad thing

I think if Henry is coming in it's because Rohan has retired. I don't see Henry asking for a trade to play 2s when he can play 2s just fine at Collingwood
This is our current best forward six:

HF: Close Cameron Miers
F: Stengle Hawkins Rohan

If I’m Henry that doesn’t worry me.

Some at 20 want the world..other might see the chance to work and push their way in. He has more talent than some in our side id have thought.

And id think play 2's at Geelong probably would not worry him near as much if that where he wants to be...its up to him. If he was totally happy..why has he not signed. Dollars?

It was speculated to an offer by Gold Coast. Im sure if we offered the same as them he would stay... but two years at his age ..at would probably be 300 plus..would have to be considered.
Tuohy is a good player who is still playing well, and a character in the changing room with his wonderfully Irish take on life. I can’t see the club willingly letting him go. Another year and review. And having him will definitely be a factor in trying to get McKenna.

5 of those I think play roles that are not his bag. So it has to be Rohan out Henry in for me. That's if we want the same forward pressure that has seen us. Sure we can set up differently, but is that what we want?

I'm slowly talking myself into it actually

I think you add talent and the selection and balance works its self out. If he starts kicking goals in the Preseason or starts to show the ability to cover ground. they will find a spot for him.

Its not something we needed and if Hooper had been coming we had other priorities but now it maybe its convenient.

I don’t look at it that way. If Bayley Fritsch was available would we knock him back because he doesn’t play Rohan’s or Miers’ role? There are many ways to skin a cat.

Its a little bit like the Hooper situation. We will offer what we think is right. Years ago the club let Bews go to Brisbane and put Mansfield in his spot. Sometimes its just the cost of part of the pain of list managment.

Id offer him 1 at what ever we say is fair... he is a steady player but he is also 33 in Dec. 2 games away from 250. Be a nice way to celebrate a milestone

We will let him go for nothing as we treat our players with respect and dignity. Thats why we are a destination club.

The only reason I feel a bit ambivalent about the idea of bringing in O. Henry is that I want us to give Neale a good number of games next year, and I don't see any way a forward line featuring all of Hawkins, Cameron, Neale and Henry would have the right balance. Three of them together (ie Hawk, Cameron and Neale or Hawk, Cameron and Henry) would work fine but we'd be giving up too much defensive pressure and crumbing ability to try and field all four.
