Is there anyone else on our radar if we don't land Jackson and lose Lobb, Logue, Acres?

Presumably we end up with a decent draft hand of something like two mid-to-late first rounders (ours plus Bulldogs for Lobb) and two second rounders (Logue, Acres). Currency either to bring in someone else or go to the draft and fill the holes next year with Meek, Erasmus/Johnson, Amiss/Traecy.

Target one of Todd Marshall, Georgiades or Finlayson (all three kicked over 20 goals) @ Port to help give them the currency they need for Dunkley?

Seems a strange fit - Lobb to Dogs - given their plethora of forwards (JUH, Darcy, Naughton, Bruce, Schache), particularly those that can play ruck/forward (Darcy - 205cm, Bruce - 198cm, Schache - 201cm). Sure he's an improvement, but maybe only for a year until Darcy comes good.
They may leave Darcy back for a few years if Lobb goes there.

I'm not entirely sure on the rest of it.

But I have heard from a players mouth that he can only access a portion of his salary. What Taylor is saying is right. It's to try and protect some less financially savvy players from blowing their huge earnings and having nothing left when they retire. I'm sure the players that sign these agreements are in the minority though.
Many ordinary folk have put this kind of trust in their "financial advisors", its not unusual and sometimes works well.

I keep reading that the Eagles will need to get AFL permission to use their pick 2 in a trade if they want to get involved in the Jackson stakes. Why in hell would the AFL ever agree to that as it would set a precedent and what justification is there, because they only won a premiership in 2018 so they are so disadvantaged, their Administration and Management used the picks and should have to abide by the draft rules.

Blake Acres and Darcy Tucker’s fates appeared to be sealed after the fair were spotted removing their belongings from Fremantle headquarters on Wednesday.
But the future or Rory Lobb and his imminent trade request to the Western Bulldogs hangs in the balance.
The trio conducted their exit meetings on Wednesday.
Lobb spent less than an hour at Cockburn this morning but emerged with only a handful of paper, potentially an off-season training program.

Meanwhile Acres and Tucker, who have been linked to Carlton and North Melbourne respectively, carried out large bags containing their personal belongings as their moves east appear likely to come to fruition.

It’s believed Fremantle could hold Lobb to the final year of his deal if out of contract utility Griffin Logue requests a trade.

Tucker was one of the first to arrive at Cockburn on Wednesday morning, kicking off Fremantle’s end-of-season exit procedure as players prepare to go on holiday.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been linked to North Melbourne in his search for more senior opportunity.

But Tucker looks set to spend the off-season in rehab after injuring his knee in the WAFL, arriving in a leg brace.

While Acres, who is being courted by Carlton, arrived in a second batch of players.
Defenders Heath Chapman and Hayden Young have also arrived at Cockburn but their futures are locked in long-term after both signed contract extensions this year.

The majority of Fremantle’s playing squad have now landed back in Perth after the Dockers bowed out of the finals against Collingwood on Saturday.

Just wondering do other players that have exit interviews normally take their belongings and clothes home or would they just leave them there until pre season as according to Eliza Reilly that is the big scoop indicating that players are leaving the club. What is the next big story by the West, they have put out their home bins early meaning they are also leaving.

AFL can make and break their own rules.
Understand that but why have rules in the first place. Can understand to some degree the PP if you have been down the bottom for two decades but could see no validity to help those that have won a GF in the last decade.

They’ve each got a bag of footy boots, whatever that means. I presume you probably would leave you boots at the club if you were staying, but who knows?

Thank god for that.

When I heard they also had rocked up for exit interviews I was sure they wanted out.

Look fwd to a player by player analysis of our squad and likeliness of them leaving dependant on what time they rock up/ who there with and most importantly how much stuff they take with them.

Ollie Henry looks set on Geelong.

Corbett talking to Melbourne.

Not many replacements available.
Same old story - There is never a quick fix.

Club just has to develop its own. Only sure way.

Amiss, Sturt and Treacy followed by Benning and Kuek. Add Jackson and Darcy to the mix for the odd spell up forward and a possibly fit Taberner. Maybe there is a mature ager tucked away in the State Leagues somewhere.

I would be in Shannon Neale's ear 24/7 if I were Bell, OOC end 2023.

We can manage.

I was under the impression that all players clean out their lockers at the end of the season.

Be silly not to go after Scache as Lobb will go there. Weideman too. They’re not preferable but they’re cheap and good options. Himmelberg as well. Unfortunately the short sightedness of drafting has cost Fremantle here. Amiss is a great first rounder but really to contend, need as many quality forwards from first rounders then midfielders.

This seems logical right? Be a bit weird if they didn't.

And it's not like the media to present this information in deceiving ways to generate story lines or clicks or anything like that.

I vaguely remember Patrick Dangerfield explaining the end of season process saying you always clean out your locker first then have your meeting.

I was under the impression that all players clean out their lockers at the end of the season.
No reason to take a whole bag of footy boots home with you. Also lobb didn't take anything since he's likely waiting on logue before the club let's him go

There's no guarantee of security leaving things in your locker. Has there been much in there when the club holds a sale?
Or Lobb cleaned out his locker before they flew out to Melbourne?

Yeah. I thought it was normal for players to empty their lockers at the end of the year.
