Wasn’t that the reason SOS traded up to grab him before us? Someone will remember how that went down
Media and a lot of phantoms had us taking him and that was apparently why Carlton made the move to snap him up (they rated him very highly at the time (inside the top 10))

But afterwards our links were never confirmed and we seemingly weren’t interested at all

Weak draft this year, R2 pick isn’t great compensation.

It’d be nice if we could somehow trade into r1 next year. Not saying Graham is worth a r1 pick in a strong 23 draft, but there’s always the option of involving multiple clubs/ players.

I’m not sure the status of Georgiades but if he was to head back west involving WCST in a 3 way trade would appeal. Even their 2nd round pick next year is likely to be valuable considering their likely ladder position
Id rather hold onto Graham than just give him away for a 2nd rounder. I'd be asking for there compo if it's end of first round and there future 2nd rounder. We would then also give them our future 3rd.

In: ports end of first round compo, future 2nd.
Out: Graham, future 3rd.

Graham is contracted so the deal needs to be slightly in our favour.

You would think X knows what he's talking about,
Agree, out of everything he is the most concrete, but it didn’t seem like he was 100% sure either just by reading what he said

Fingers crossed he gets another crack and can repay the faith and the opportunities he has been given

It's a draft with great depth, there'll be really good players coming from outside the first 20-25 picks for sure this season.

I agree re not giving him away for a 2nd round pick this year however pretty sure Port wouldn’t give away that much for Graham

He looks a player does Soligo.
Reckon the 2021 draft will prove to be deepest draft since 2017. Looks to have much better quality in the 2nd round than the 2018-2020 drafts, although 2018 had the best top end talent.

We did pretty well getting Hugo and Cumbo in 2019 and Ryan and MJ in 2020. Both look to be shallow drafts.

George isn't even close.

I’m not a big u18 watcher but all the talk I’ve heard is that this year’s draft isn’t that strong and clubs will try and trade into next year’s draft which at this early stage appears stronger.
But hey, how many times have we heard that. Time will tell

I reckon I hear this posted almost every year haha

And a player. It would work for lower end teams paying under the cap.

I thought that was for us?

Pick 7 isn’t that big of a deal, even outright. You still have to select the right player, develop them and retain them at their peak.

850k though will make most mids in the comp look twice.

Rather than Bowes, I’d take that 1.6 and ask Noah Anderson if he’s interested.

if we get a reasonable pick, there'll be the opportunity to land a really good player. Having watched a fair bit, there's depth in every position this draft, can't always say that.
