its not that Hawthorn have traded these guys away for unders

they have been free agents and within their rights to explore their options, just because they all decided on the one team doesnt mean its any different to them all picking different sides and no one complaining.

end of the day they are entitled to sign Jack as a Free Agent, one that if they did it that way Hawthorn would get nothing anyway. So something is better than nothing in my opinion
Happy to let Jack go to them as a F/A. Where looking after a top teams compo pick, a future 3rd pick is more than reasonable.

Hodgey was worth more than we got for sure.

Stop it, you're embarrassing yourself
Yeah the 0x all Australian, 0x B&F winner is a star.

Spare me, he is a really good wingmen, I have spoken highly of him for years including when most on this board were calling him a spud years ago. But he isn’t a star

so you would prefer to get nothing over something just to prove a point?

what happens when you need a sweetener and that team says they would accept a late pick on top and you say we cant sorry we were proving a point

it will happen and it will be a late pick that at the time looks pointless

With the Bowes/pick 7 deal, I think I'll be happy wherever he ends up...

If us, for obvious reasons,
If Geelong, for the reason that Dodoro said "we are very interested",
If Essendon, for the fact that Geelong have been into him for a long time.

At least the Cats or Bombers miss out. Ideal if both of them miss out lol.

Yeah if a team (in this case Brisbane) say we need points for draft picks and they need another 40 points to just make your deal the better one over someone else's and you cant add those points to it because you forced them to do that then how happy will you be in the stance you made that might cost you a higher pick in a points exchange?

Add to that in a few years when you get a guy from Brisbane to nominate Hawthorn and Brisbane say no we remember your stance in 2022, we aren't going to make this easy on you

The goodwill of the Brad Hill deal to Freo should mean we get Meek for pick 70.

No one makes it easier for us Hawks. The 2022 draft is expected to have 50 picks tops.

An pick 70 is worth SFA, as 74 is zero. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

its worth 39 points, and like you said, it wont be used because there's a chance it will be upgraded for points.

honestly no idea how else to explain this so lets move on.

I am more surprised that McStay hasn't happened yet

Ain't this the truth. For years now we pay way overs to bring talent in and yet receive stuff all when trading out thanks to GW. Pies can eff off with a 3rd rounder and Poulter for TOM - NO DEAL! As for Gunston, pick 70 is pretty useless, surely we can exchange some pick swaps to get in the vicinity of late 40's most likely 50's..
