If he played next year with the added maturity, further growth and the likelihood he'd light up the Nationals he'd probably go pick 2 behind Harley Reid unless someone jumps out of the ground big time.

This is the exact reason why I think it’s worth the risk getting him on draft night or trading into a decent pick with a future pick before draft night

There’s not a player in the comp where cost is entirely irrelevant. I’m more than happy to overpay $ given our list and then reasonably at the trade table. But unlike you, I reckon 2 low firsts and a second is too much.

If the PSD or ND isn’t a viable alternative then we’re effectively trading for a contracted player. We shouldn’t be paying anything on top of 5 as no club is picking him in the ND before that pick. And even then, we should be able to trade back to about 10 and, with the big frontload, nobody is selecting him before that either.
