Draymond Green in the NBA is getting condemned for punching a teammate in practice.

I was thinking if this happened in the AFL, you'd have popular AFL figures coming out saying we should move on from this because this guy is a 'good bloke '.

People who know Draymond Green already knew he was a **** bucket.

NEW GREATER Western Sydney coach Adam Kingsley has added another experienced name to his coaching panel for 2023, signing 2004 premiership teammate Brett Montgomery.

After a thorough search to add some fresh faces to the football department at Giants HQ, the club secured Adelaide great Ben Hart last week following a two-year stint at the Northern Bullants.

Meanwhile, GWS senior assistant Mark McVeigh resigned on Monday morning after a nine-year stint that included taking over the reins from Leon Cameron as caretaker coach in the second half of 2022.

Think the 2nd round future is GWS' that is tied to Collingwood's pick because AFL has banned trading out a club's future 1st and 2nd.

Edit The Deal is;

Freo IN Jackson + 44 + 67 OUT F1 + F2 (Freo's as they also have North's future 2nd Rd priority pick from the Logue trade)

Melb IN 13 + F1 Freo + F2 Freo OUT Jackson + Bedford + 67

GWS IN Bedford OUT 13 + 44

Edit AFL House have broken down the deal

I think if you trade in a Future pick you can trade yours in the same round. We could do the same, just need to get hold of a future second.
You can't trade your future 1st and 2nd. Freo don't have a future 2nd from another club, but GWS do. From Lore's 2023 provisional picks spreadsheet / thread.

Edit its the North compo pick they are trading out. thanks to JakeNeadeFan more than my eyesight.

Freo have traded out a future 1st and 2nd tied to Fremantle.

They're allowed to trade out their future second because they still have a second future second in North's priority pick.
As mentioned we can trade out our F2 as long as we get another one in.

Yes Lore on the Draft and Trade board clarified for me, that if you trade out your future first, you can trade out future rounds if you have 2 or more picks in that round. We didn't have 2 x 2023 2nd round picks. She also confirmed it was the Freo's future 2nd round pick trade out, not the higher up the ladder North future 2nd round priority pick traded in for Logue.

Because you're confusing me now....

(If you trade the future 1st) Are you saying if you hold your own 2nd, and someone elses 2nd, that you can still trade your own 2nd out.

Or

Are you saying a team must hold their own, and 2 other 2nds?

I was of the understanding as per Brian McGee above, that you can trade your 1st and 2nd as long as you are still left with another 2nd. However your questioning of that and then the above has muddied my understanding.

Lol 'Adelaide's not appealing enough to live in for coaches; Sydney's too expensive'

AFL out there trying to be all about equality but not equitability.
Gotta be honest, coaching under Adam Kingsley wouldn't fill many with much enthusiasm either. I wish him well, but he has literally zero presence.

I am saying the rules say the following

Trade out your F1 - you must have an F2 + F3 + F4 left. You can only trade out of those picks if you have traded in a pick in the round you want to trade out before you can trade out your F1 + another F pick.

Freo had F1 + F2(North Priority) + F2 + F3 + F4. So they were allowed to trade out their F1+F2 as they still have F2(North Priority)+ F3 + F4 which is allowed under AFL rules.

Keep your F1 - you can trade out all of your F2+F3+F4 without any restrictions.

Adelaide offered three first-round picks for the No.1 pick last year to take Jason Horne-Francis. The Crows have ended up using those picks on Josh Rachele (No.6 in 2021), Jordan Dawson (a future first-rounder in 2021) and Izak Rankine (No.5 in 2022).

Which shows how ridiculous that offer was, even with the picks coming back.

They’ve done well getting those three in.

Hopefully time will eventually say that us getting JHF was a better deal but that is a very solid hand to them. Wouldn't be upset about nabbing the three of them instead, well done to the Crows there.
