Pitto is still ruck-young, strong at the contest, with uncanny awareness of surrounding midfielders.
Stay uninjured 'Brad', this could be your/our year.

The only worry with Pitto is he does tend to get touched up by the very tall rucks. Witts and Gawn generally dominate. We lost to GC with Witts giving their mids an armchair ride all game (though that was against TDK).

I'd like to see us be brave with Mirkov and play him against those teams. He'd have done his job if he can win or spoil the hitouts - which would deny the opposition their only realistic way of beating us. I think the ruck contest cost us agains the Saints too when Ryder and Marshall killed us and we lost. Without that ruck domination we'd have won that by a landslide.

Maybe Mirkov isn't ready yet but at 210cm with a massive vertical leap I think he should be at least able to spoil the opposition hitouts.

As you say, TDK was the ruck against Gold Coast and also St Kilda. Yes Pitto was well beaten by Gawn but Gawn will end up a top 5 ruck of all time plus we still won the clearances that game.
I’m sure there are examples but I can’t remember us getting smashed at stoppages when Pitto has been in the ruck

I may be misremembering but I'm pretty sure he hasn't played against Witts and has done a reasonable job against Gawn, at the stoppage anyway.

Pitto don't jump, but he's pretty good at absorbing the impact of more athletic ruckmen and then directing the ball to our advantage.
TDK can jump and mark but has no idea where to place the ball and gets easily 'worked out' by other teams.
They're both still young and inexperienced. With a 5 man interchange looming, they're differences could present an interesting match-up challenge.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I’d take Polec on a 1-year deal.

The guy was a gun at Port, obviously things didn’t pan out at North but he has a couple of great years at the Power.

Maybe he’s surplus with Acres on board but he’s too good a player to already be out of the system.
On a rookie wage, possibly bloody good depth

Isn’t he struggling with injuries?

Biggest issue with Pitto is he is a complete liability as soon as the ball leaves the centre square, he has zero impact around the ground. and his opposing ruckmen usually feasts. There may be stats that prove me wrong, but i also reckon Pitto gets destroyed at boundary throw ins, especially inside 50 which can be costly.

Not a fan? "complete liability", "zero impact", "destroyed at boundary throw ins", that's as strong and harsh a criticism of any ruckman that I have read. That pretty much renders him useless.

Pitt does need to get more involved around the ground just as TDK needs to offer more.
They're both reasonably green so they should add additional layers to their respective games with time.

2023 will be a significant development year for both Pitto & TDK both will be evaluated carefully as they become OOC end of the season and may well be targeted too, will be interesting to see direction the club takes.
