The SB performers have to lip sync, they don't want anyone going off script.
Did you see RATM playing Killing in the Name live on BBC radio after they had the Christmas number 1?

"Oh, they told us they wouldn't swear. We told them not to sing that bit"...

Do people actually believe this? 😂
Well Stephen rowe has stated it. Take that for what you will. I also recall kochy saying how the club had a word to the media and asked them to stop bagging port otherwise they would cease to exist

We are literally in their heads.

Now good ole Ken has said this “is the most talented group of players I have ever coached”.

And Jonas is now including Port SANFL and the Port AFLW side in his winning 3 flags - not just the mens AFL side.

i heard that aswell, and thought they still won't win any

So how has the Adelaide media turned JHF into a proving his doubters wrong cause?

The guy went at No.1 and then walked out on the club that drafted him.

Isn't the pressure on him to prove his cost to Port?
C'mon Cap you know what the media in this town is about when it comes to Port

We have seen some of the media come out this week about how awesome of a job Ken has done.

We should support them... long live Ken!

You’ve got to give them credit for not standing still but they are still missing a KPD so that will hurt them.

Geelong will still be strong
Richmond, Lions and Pies good ins

So whilst they may improve, they won’t get close to winning it. Hopefully enough though to re-sign Ken
I think missing Ratagolea was a big miss for them. Not because he has been a world beater but he could have had an impact like Alir did for them but as a KPD and they are short there

I am a bit different on JHF than the consensus here. I think with the players he has around him in the middle here he could have a big impact for them starting this year. To me, it was all about getting to port and the rest that went before it is now just white noise. I just hope our young mids can really step up as currently their on ball division is levels better thsn ours

I think jhf will be an absolute gun and people on here saying he's no good at being influenced by who he's playing for. If we'd got him it'd be the most exciting thing since danger.
But he was never going anywhere except port. North were hoodwinked

I'm not questioning how good he may or maybe not become, he didn't go pick 1 for no reason.

I just wonder why the media is somehow creating the image he is the victim here.

But as eluded to here, that's the quality of journalism here.

Surely not.
Yeah.. i recall reading about it somewhere that this is what happens..

They get paid nothing and they have their earnings for the next year docked!

The NFL obviously believe that the artist gets a huge boost in earnings from playing on such a large stage and they believe they hve the rights to a cut of that..

Seems like a massive overreach bit I guess they have no drama’s finding musicians willing to do it..

If musicians thought it was a rort they can simply say no thanks.. and I suppose many probably do.

From an article in Business Insider from a couple of days ago (Feb 12)
There is no mention of further skimming by the NFL…

While the NFL does not write out large checks to performers who take the stage during half-time, the costs associated with their performance are covered by the league, according to Newsweek.

The NFL also has to pay "union scale," an amount dictated by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA), according to Newsweek. The funds go to the union, which then distributes them to performers.

"The NFL covers all costs associated with the show and does pay the performers' union scale. There is not an appearance fee, but the artists are indeed paid union scale," Brian McCarthy, the NFL's vice president of communications told Newsweek.

And..

For his 2021 halftime performance, the Weeknd spent an additional $7 million of his own money to ensure the show fit his vision, Billboard previously reported.

"The NFL allows you a production budget — it's almost never enough to satisfy what the actual production costs are. However, usually the label will step in and provide the shortfall," Lou Taylor, a veteran business manager, told Billboard.

And..

An NFL spokesperson told Forbes that Apple Music will help them in "footing the bill" for Rihanna's performance. It's not clear at the moment if Rihanna will spend any additional money of her own on the show. Pepsi had been the show's sponsor for the previous decade, CNNreported.

Would be an interesting analysis to see what sort of revenue boost the artists receive as a direct result of the SB performance.

With 113 million eyeballs watching the Superbowl, I wonder how much of that converts to revenue via Spotify royalties or album downloads etc.

They just can't keep us out of their mind...

They keep forgetting there are 16 other teams!

I like how Kenny has now come out and said “We’ve all agreed we won’t review my position before August..we’re all on the same page, aren’t we boys..ask anyone, they’ll tell you.. not before August..not earlier than that..August…all on the same page..ask anyone..”

Sounding a little nervous there Kenny😄

I’m sure they have all agreed on August. Then when they lose a few early ones…

Just saw this report…

Aparently more people tuned in to watch her than actually tuned in to watch the game itself..

To be fair, I would expect that to be consistent with other years where most people are more interested in the half time performance than the game itself!

Either way, that is a lot of exposure for an artist so if they have an upcoming album being released then it would be worth doing for free I'd imagine.

Not entirely surprising. The Super Bowl figure would be averaged over the whole game, possibly including the pre- & post- game analysis. The Half-time figure would be just for the 15 (?) min that she was performing. A lot of people won't watch the whole game - I'd be willing to bet that the numbers for the last few minutes would be a lot higher than the figures from the first half.

** That's before we even consider the people who only tuned in to watch the half-time show.

There's definitely a few that have publically turned them down, most say it's not the right time or I want to wait until A, B, C occurs before I do.
But realistically if they know they're gonna have a big music year particularly going on tour they'd say no.
