As someone most familiar with Fremantle and West Coast games at Perth Stadium (which resemble funerals, only without the good music), the bar for atmosphere at sporting events for me is quite low. So I'm bloody excited for the SCG, and to be among the faithful!

Although I have been to one home game for the Swans... the great Sydney derby of 2020 in Perth. About 10,000 Swans fans all packed into one wing of Optus Stadium with like 2 Giants fans was still the most surreal experience at the footy ever.
Those two weren’t Giants supporters- they were gormless pommy tourists given some free merchandise by the TV networks.

Nobody has yet found the mystical Giants supporter in Perth.

The Port game in round 4. Didn't have a choice in what weekend I was there, which meant I didn't have a choice in which game to go to. If I did, I'm quite sure I would've picked a game against someone we haven't lost to every year since 2017...
And we kept playing Port here... Haven't seen a Swans win live since 2017 against the Crows, where Buddy broke Talia and some elderly lady was screaming at Heeney to "leave poor Rory (Sloane) alone" (tagging job). 3 point win, Crows fans thought it was due to umpiring, delicious.

Need to get over to the SCG too.

Shall we organise a meetup 88?

Any update? I know Nike is terrible at releasing but I can see Collingwood has slowly started releasing a few products for 2023. Does anyone know about us?

Great big honking sign in the Swans SHOP section says "New Supporter Range - Shop Now"

But i note everything under the Nike list is On Sale.

I'm underwhelmed by the womens selection so far this year.

Little bit of self promotion here but I poured a lot of effort into making our season preview over on Reddit so I feel like I've earned it

Edit: Oh Jesus I didn't expect Bigfooty to show the whole post here. My apologies fellas. Mods if this doesn't belong here feel free to put it somewhere else

Wowee that is outstanding work you've done there. And the people who contributed. I feel like I need a translator with me every time I venture into reddit so I try to avoid it, so thank you for sharing.

On sale... that's my price range!

Hey guys, are Nike still a slightly oversize fit? I haven't bought any of their stuff for years but I could do with a new shirt in my running collection

I was perusing the POTY threads over the years out of curiosity regarding Jake Lloyd's performances in finals (result: He has never received a POTY vote from this board in a final, but I will die on the hill that he is a gun!)

Of course me being me, I got carried away and ended up looking at all the votes from finals games going back to 2012 (I couldn't find any from earlier) and ended up creating a whole list of the average POTY votes received by each player in finals.

So pop quiz time... who were the top 3 Swans based on average POTY votes received in finals between 2012-2022?

NO CHEATING (not that most would have the time... this shit took me longer than I care to admit.)

Person with the correct guess wins nothing.

It's freaking awesome! Two laptops on - just move from one to other as required.
Not to mention I get to spend the day with my girlfriend.

And by girlfriend, I mean Jennifer Aniston in Friends as I have the series on the tellie in the background all day...

Last year Grand Final, 2021 1 final, came 7th. Previous two years no finals.
Therefore effectively 2012 - 2018 inclusive.
C88 posed the question, therefore:
Hewett
Lloyd
McVeigh

I did the maths on our POTY ages ago when talking about Reid but I don't think I specifically thought about finals. JPK would be very high up despite missing last year. Parker had a very good 2014 as did Franklin iirc

I think JPK, Parker and Franklin would be my guess

I appreciate everyone's guesses, and it seems we were thinking along the same lines (mine probably would've been JPK, Hanners and Parker, in that order.)

The answer...

James Rowbottom (2.75 votes per final)
Adam Goodes (2.6 votes per final)
Josh Kennedy (2.4 votes per final)

Which I was... not expecting.

Definitely think the first two were helped by the fact they'd played in fewer finals in the period than JPK (4 and 8 respectively, as opposed to JPK's 18.) The fact JPK was able to consistently poll so well across so many finals really is remarkable, though equally impressive is Goodes performing so well in finals when he was well past his prime and Rowbottom performing so well in finals when he was well ahead of his prime.

Aliir Aliir & Ryan O'Keefe (both at 2 votes per final) round out the top five, followed by Luke Parker (1.75 per final.)

Really tells you something about BF

I am too late but I was going to guess

1. JPK (undoubtedly our best finals player over that period)
2. RB (I was conscious he had only played one final before last year)
3. Parker

Did not consider Goodsey - but should have!
