Goldy in for X. Corr is the obvious next in but I don’t know who’d I drop out of the back 7. Weird problem to have.

I think we're doing a disservice to Bonar. He's not a defender. Someone posted a video of his highlights this week, he's much better as a big bodied mid or half forward, like he was at GWS.
Not sure you can go in with just Logue against Taberner, Jackson & Treacy.
We backed our midfield to win the battle against WCE, I don’t think we can do the same against Freo.
Corr or Dawson has to come in.
No dramas. It'll be good to go watch the VFL team live while the seniors are interstate in the coming weeks. I thought I read that Wardlaw might play a half or two but I could be wrong.Pretty much. Sorry.
It was obvious being at the game how hard Scott was running. His kicking let him down, but it was a good game and no way does he get dropped. I haven't watched the replay yet, but I'm guessing they zoom in to much. I'd love to watch games on replay like the NFL have the "coaches view" where the tactics are more obvious.I watched the game from start to finish. Maybe it was different at the ground but from the broadcast I didn't notice Scott a huge amount.
As I said, I'm not saying he (or anyone) was terrible. But next week I want both Corr and Bonar in the backline so someone needs to be omitted and I picked Scott.
Bonar is a deer in headlights when he gets the ball and loves to play hot potato. Why not…?
He was poor for large parts of the game.
It was pretty clear at the game that he often mistimes his leap at the footy, is bodied out of contests too easily, gets lost when the ball hits the deck and doesn’t have very good positioning & game sense when opposing mids are around the 70-80m region - all of these factors completely negate his athletic abilities.
Also, his disposal and decision making is haphazard and I don’t actually think our team trust him with ball in hand.
I think Corr and Dawson show far more immediate benefits to the team as defenders and we should be playing them accordingly.
If we want to persist with Bonar in this role, that’s fine, but there’s a reason we have a reserve team to help develop our players.
Not sure how everyone else saw it, but I do agree on Bonar coming out for either Corr or Dawson. He looks very worried with ball in hand, on a couple of ocassions from where I was sat he just wanted to get rid of it as soon as he touched it and often at the expense of a team mate under pressure or just a bad option. I didn't feel he impacted much in the contest and as another poster had mentioned far too many balls come out the back. I know we only had Logue and Bonar as the second tall, but when Griff is hitting every contest and Bonar comes in over the back he just needs to impact more and kill the ball.
Otherwise hopeful that Goldy can handle Jackson/Darcy, it's gonna be rough for any ruck against those two.
Funny, I liked Greenwood doing the ruck around the ground, I doubt that’s the last we see of it, as soon as that ball went to ground it was nice having a tackling machine in there.I like Chom in the ruck - Goldy with mongrel.
Maybe leave him there for X.
Agree.
Bonar perfect matchup for Fyfe.
Multiple times he changed the momentum in contests up the field. It was like watching Goldy if he had a bit of campaigner about him.Oh heavens no.
That’s the great thing about football, we can have fundamental differences of opinion which ignited debate and discussion. Not sure you can go in with just Logue against Taberner, Jackson & Treacy.

Dawson for Bonar. Bonar was very ordinary. Let's far too many balls over the back. Does not want the ball in his hand. Didn't stand underneath high ball when needed.
There was at least one occasion yesterday where he drifted forward and he was involved in a scoring chain - that would have been his most fluent piece of play that I can recall.I think we're doing a disservice to Bonar. He's not a defender. Someone posted a video of his highlights this week, he's much better as a big bodied mid or half forward, like he was at GWS.
That's kind of what Xerri was doing too, earlier, but Hugh was right onto it. Apparenmtly Clarko wanted him doing that to give Xerri a rest anyway so the only real change was Hugh did it for longer and Chom got up the ground a little more. It was great the way they worked it out.Funny, I liked Greenwood doing the ruck around the ground, I doubt that’s the last we see of it, as soon as that ball went to ground it was nice having a tackling machine in there.
I would rather they omit Stephenson, run with five forwards, 6+1 defenders. Go with something like this:Clearly, it's Goldy in for X, and most likely Corr comes in. The player to drop out will be unlucky. I don't think Bonar deserves to be dropped and nor does Goater or Bergman, but for balance, I expect it would be one of those three, sadly. Unless there's a niggle that someone else picked up, there will be no other changes. WilPhil probably remains the sub, although I really want to see him play the full game sooner rather than later.
Yes, Ben McKay said as much on radio yesterday. No dramas. It'll be good to go watch the VFL team live while the seniors are interstate in the coming weeks. I thought I read that Wardlaw might play a half or two but I could be wrong.
