Our club in the Media

30 seconds on us winning on The Footy Show, followed by 10 minutes of sooking by Kane about the free kick. Media are genuinely scared that we might be good.

No mention of how we dominated territory? Smashed them in the middle? Had 10 more scoring shots? Classic Kane. This’ll be all we’ll hear from him when talking about Carlton on SEN this week 😭

I'll be interested in the take on First Crack.

Unsurprisingly only mention of our game on first crack was about the decision.. can expect this to be rinse and repeat across the remainder of the Monday night shows.

No mention of our game on First Crack Stayed up for the whole hour of the show to wait. Feel like ringing them up and giving them a crack. They want to ignore us.
Do what I do, watch it the next day if you have Kayo or record it with Foxtel. Then I just fast fwrd to see where they mention us. I do it with all the Footy Shows now.

To be fair, it was a s**t game that many here have identified as bog ordinary. Other than the dodgy decision, there wasnt/isn't much to talk about.
Reasonable point, it has just been a tad annoying that because we have played Thursday & Fridays we have mostly been ignored on these shows, and now we play a Saturday game get shunted again because we are off Broadway in western Sydney. The game was poor, i would have thought some discussion on the surface and playing a curtain raiser prior to an AFL fixture might generate discussion given the poor condition of the surface.

There’s always plenty to talk about in every game.

It’s down to the quality of the analyst.

For review shows, there is no excuse to not cover each game.

I miss drew morphett, just gave you the score, highlights and what the ground conditions/weather were like. None of this overhyped/ under analysed bullsnot sponsored by gambling/fast food franchises. 😡

If the “media” ignore us, good.
I'm just ignoring them. Hmphh!

Gosh darn it. I'M PAYING for them to say nice things about our club!!!

You and I both know that does not guarantee equal air time between game reviews, and every round there would be a game or two that isn't dissected as much as others.

I don't think it's the quality of the analyst, but the 'talking points' of each game which, other than the decent run we got with the umpires, and Cripps in 'beast mode' there wasn't anything much worth talking about with our game.

Anyway, we can agree to disagree.

Not suggesting equal air time. But it is poor to overlook a game completely or close enough to it, just because it wasn't a particularly good game to watch.

I don't buy this.
There are countless garbage games through the course of a season that get air time. It's not good enough to say 'oh, that game was crap, so we won't talk about it.'

Cripps beast mode
Acres suspension
Inaccuracy in front of goal almost costing us
Carlton fighting off a surging Giants outfit and regaining control of the game
Tom Green huge game
Toby Greene's invisibility cloak
Harry McKay not troubling the scoreboard

That's just a few off the top of my head; there are many, many other talking points.

Anyway, we can agree to disagree.
No. You will agree with me and you will like it.

Funnily enough, bar the Tom Green one, I've heard all of those discussed at different stages, across a couple of programs on the radio today.

No. You will agree with me and you will like it

The squiggle currently has us finishing 4th. I’d take that. Our next 6 games leading into Collingwood will have us favourites on the betting agencies. Could easily place us 8-1-0 before the biggest clash the afl will have seen in 20+ years. Records broken everywhere.

2nd best defence in the afl. Attack a lot to work on (7th best) but with our next few games and Walsh returning it could improve dramatically.

Loss to Collingwood followed by low scoring win v saints. Melbourne v Carlton prelim will be juicy to afford the chance to beat Collingwood in another grand final.

I'm glad I did no post what I was going to earlier, after watching the couch some would have thought I was (dare I say it) Nathan Buckley. Practically word for word on our talls in the forward line phew' glad I didn't post it.
I must be losing my marbles if I'm thinking like him...I need to lay down.

Not fussed that our game got minimal airtime.

After today it's all over the media. For all of the reasons it would have been before as that was the big talking point (sadly).

Haven't watched it tbh but what Buckley has previously said is spot on. If it had anything to do with how impossible our transition forward is for our smaller forwards to play to. Also H and Charlie leading to the same spot has to stop.

What else did he say?

On the couch tonight….

charlie and H need to work together not against

plenty of upside

newman going great guns…
r1 0 goals to dusty
r2 1goal Henry
r3 1 goal Toby

Love this 👍

Our tall forwards are not at their best when they get more match fitness there is better things to come a lot of upside.

Jonno Brown on the Nic Newman bandwagon.
