Team selection once again a massive issue. Our fixture is about to get very difficult and Bwad has rejected his chance to set the course for a new direction for Essington.
5 weeks and a few thrashings away awaits severe scrutiny on these decisions and the wider state of the club…..again. It’s like Groundhog Day.

Oh go on.

Who missed that absolutely should be there.

Voss the only unlucky one.
Hobbs also IF his body is right.

Other than that who should be playing?
Weid and Jones can’t be in the same side. They’re the same potato.
Heppell shouldn’t be in the side.
That’s 3 passengers and plenty
enough to swing the game.
The thought process and mindset that sees those guys picked is the problem. We’ve got an extended period of getting thumped approaching. In the midst of this continued failure I hope all the EFC sycophants have sufficient opportunity to ruminate on the why and how we got here. #6788 days

So what will you say if both Jones and Heppell don't end up in the side?

The side hasn’t even been picked yet. Relax

Weid and Jones looked fine together in Round 1, and have played different roles to-date. Jones is all about work-rate, getting to the contest in that 40-80m arc and opening up the fwd 50 for the other forwards to play into. He's played some solid team-first games for us so far this year. I think a lot of the criticism coming for him has been from folks who've been Supercoach-pilled into thinking low possessions = low impact.

Weid played well round 1 and then got injured. Too early to make a call on whether he works in our structure or not, and only a clean run at it at full-fitness will tell the tale. Axing blokes after a quite game (especially coming off injury) is what would be the "same old Essendon", and it's refreshing to see selection stay the course on what the panel thinks is our best 22, rather than being reactive to outside noise and destructive to player confidence.

Hepp I agree should be out, but we all ought consider that Brad may think he needs to be tactful about how he massages our former captain out of the side given the potential for internal (and external) disruption. He'd have a better read of the playing group than we fans do, and I trust him to handle the process the way it needs to be handled.

The better question is who you'd swap in. Voss is in great form but should be given the chance to prove it's a sustainable step-up and not just a purple patch. Hobbs has been injured and is frankly where he should be: building his one-wood as a dominant inside mid rather than languishing in a forward pocket to try and build "flexibility" into his game. It's a new thing for Essendon to have in-form blokes in the ressies, but let's have them knock the door down rather than swing them in on the back of a handful of Feb/March performances.

Would have liked to see have seen Voss and Hobbs picked - it will be interesting to see who misses off the extended bench - my money is on Menzie, Massimo, Davey and Phillips playing

That means Jones, Heppell, Hind and Snelling miss

Much like your sad, angry posting really. Maybe go burn your membership card and follow North instead, they’ve got a big game on today.
It’s curious to me that a person can commit to 25,000 posts on a footy forum and not possess the capacity to evaluate the club beyond being a sycophant and a cheerleader.
I can only conclude that you’re one of those cheer squad types 😂

As I said, Groundhog Day with your posting. North doesn’t start for another 2 hours, there’s still time.
