Dees turn to run their little leggies off.
We saw the Swans ,how slow they played against Port and then went into "dog slides over slippery floor" mode for us. Papley ,llike a Jack Russell terrier against us,a 20 year old Great Dane against Port.
We will be playing a field of Jack Russells next week.

Media riding them home like Billy The Kid.

Early prediction v Dees in a week

Ball will be bounced at the start of the game, Dees will get the clearance- there will be spillage from the pack, 5 seconds of disputed ball and the a quick flick out of the congestion to a briefly free Demon player who will snap a goal.

We will be down 6 points inside a minute without an effective disposal

Will set the tone of the game, we will scrap for a while, look good for 10-15 minutes but ultimately get overrun by about 50.

Will be the perfect start to a day off on the Tuesday 🙁

That the one that had me completely confused. I watched it again about 5 times and could not see anything.

And what the * does 'pre emptive disposal' mean anyway?
Just make it up on the run with some impressive word salad...add a lil mayo..."pre"...dash of pink mountain salt..."emptive"...voila!!! We have the bull sheet salad sandwitch to go!!!
Coke to go as well?!?!

Would love to see Banks in for KMac (rested), let's see what he has on the MCG.
No Bauer yet as he's learning a key defensive role.
Dow or Ross in to play middle.
Cotchin either rests or sub.
Nyuon for Miller if he's fit

In: Dow/Ross, Banks, Nyuon, MRJ (from sub)
Out: HRS (to sub), Cotchin, Kmac (rested), Miller (if Nyuon fit)

Bit of mail that i have no trust in, but have heard this is grimes' last year.

So begins the next phase of this Richmond team.
was really hoping to see a bit more from Banks preseason/ VFL, albeit it’s early in the season. If he’s selected it’s not because he’s knocking the door down in the VFL

Nyoun if he’s over his ankle would be worth a crack, i don’t think you’d lose much playing him over Miller, particularly now he’s playing ruck.

Just strikes me as physically undersized to be playing Ruck! And playing at Ruck is what I reckon he'll be doing...if S.R. is under sized then Nyoun says hold my beer!

Good point, particularly with Nank and Soldo out , he’s really suited to that 2nd ruck role and can play back. Ryan/ Nyoun won’t give Gawn and Grundy any sleepless nights.
But the other option is Miller, who is an undersized ruckman and lacks physicality playing kpb

Sonsie could be that guy
Has a great kick although not super long distance but has that really good ability to kick off both

Still probably another pre season away before being a starting mid but we are definitely seeing snippets of that great kicking
He just needs the confidence to back himself in with his kicking.
I watch him closely as im a big fan, and noticed that in some situations he would give a handball instead of taking on the kick.
I hope with a run of games he builds that confidence.

Kane Cornes would do well to spend a modicum of time researching Richmond’s list and analysing who is playing each week.

Compares Richmond to Adelaide and Sydney. On the weekend both Sydney and Adelaide had 4 players with less than 25-games. Richmond had 9.

Let’s remember this clown 18-months who said Adelaide’s team was the worst he’d ever seen. Now he trumpets their progress.

Doesn’t he realise Richmond’s list is where Adelaide’s was at 18-months ago? That’s when all these Crow kids coming through had under 25-games, and they still had in their team senior bodies: Sloane, Walker, Lynch, Smith, MacKay, Seedsman.

And we still haven’t seen Banks and Brown, and Gibcus has barely played.

It honestly does my head in the paper thin analysis people like Cornes engage in. No team is winning any game with 9 players less than 25-games and 7-8 first-22 missing.

TT and Hopper are not here for just 2023. When our youngsters are in full flight and a heap of players are in their absolute prime, TT and Hopper will be late-20’s and also in their prime - why would we not be very confident picking a team from this list of players R1 of 2025:

Lynch : 32
Broad: 31
Macca: 30
Vlastuin: 30yo
Nank: 30
Short: 29
Soldo: 28
Hopper: 28
D Rioli: 27
Baker: 27
TT: 27
Graham: 27
T Young: 26
Bolton: 26
Miller: 25
Balta: 25
Ross: 24
Ryan: 24
Cumberland: 24
Dow: 23
Hugo: 23
MRJ: 22
Sonsie: 22
Banks: 21
Gibcus: 21
Brown: 21
Clarke: 21

I’ve left off a few real youngsters and some oldies that may still be around. But if that list of players is not ‘capable’ of playing great quality footy I’ll be bitterly disappointed.

There was a couple of pretty iffy deliberates paid against us. Which, I have no problem with if it’s consistent - but geez there was a terrible one no worse than any of ours which didn’t get paid right in front of me in a critical part of the game. Mind boggling how inconsistent some of these decisions can be in the same ****ing match

..or Ryan goes up all legs and arms akimbo like an adolescent giraffe, knees Gawn in the Jats Crackers who is thus subbed out.
Petracca and Oliver, upon hearing big Max's cry of pain, turn to see whats up, and career into each other at full tilt and are concussed out of the game.
Fritsch refuses to play go on because how is he going to get a kick now.

Will set the tone for the game, 6 points up inside the opening 10 seconds and the Melbourne supporters are heading for the exits.

Especially with the umpiring and rule changes we copped but even Hafey’s team copped a rule change with KB.

#

And the KB one wasn’t the only rule change we copped then either smasha.
Remember in the 70’s/80’s any time we made the finals, our matches had to be played at Waverley except any Grand finals.

I think it was Ron Barassi who complained about home ground advantage to Richmond. Of course he never cared in the 50’s when he was playing for Melbourne and they had the advantage over everyone else. He always had too much to say and the VFL used to just do whatever he wanted.

That could explain why Richmond were so keen on Brown in the last draft.

Grimes said during the week he wants to go on.

We got r@ped on the weekend just as any other round. 2 of the ones paid against us our players were getting tackled and were obviously miskicked. 2 against us their players looked up saw a wall of tigers 💩 the bed and was obvious their intent was to get out of bounds but cheats said carry on. It's pretty sad when feral pies and blues fans who hate us will admit we get r@ped by the white/ neon maggots!!! Even the media were trying to get Shai rubbed out for a soft slap. He got his head ran through twice and they all said F.A. If Dusty did it they'd be calling for 12 weeks.

So with Gawn likely back it's going to be interesting how we move the ball. We will get smashed at the clearances obviously, but bringing it out of defence will be interesting. Pretty much can't kick long at all with Gawn, May, Lever to dominate the air. Just gonna have to run and gun with Rioli, Short, Hugo and Baker. They will make plenty of mistakes but will just have to keep going. Last year against them we just slowed the game down to a crawl and pretty much conceded the game even in the last quarter, we never attacked them.

Jack will struggle this week, nearly given up on Dusty having a big game. Need far better games from Grimes, Vlas, Bolton, Prestia. We've struggled to move the ball against them of late, I just hope we have a go and don't end with a really low inside 50 count. % doesn't matter with our draw.
