VFL have the bye this week. Could we bring Warldaw in as the sub as to ease him into the game whilst we continue building his fitness?
I’d have him play a full game debut over Howe and scott

Especially if Simpkin needs 1 more week off

But if Simpkin is right then yeah maybe wardlaw as sub as I think clarko will bring back shiels into the 22

If in then Hall to a wing he’s quick enough and his usual long bombs will more likely end up in our forward line rather than bounce straight back. Sheezel to CHB has to learn to play with the head tag from here on in, maybe some specialist coaching from LT on how to draw the free kicks?

I can never be bothered trying to work out who should be in and who should be out but something that strikes me that might be having an impact on our performance, is the lack of stability in our fixture so far.

We started at home at Marvel, next to Perth at Optus, followed by Hawthorn at UTas Stadium, then at home at Marvel against Carlton, back on the road to Adelaide for Gather Round and on Sunday to the Gold Coast. Not a lot of routine for our boys in that 6 weeks, apart from packing and unpacking their bags on a very regular basis.

Now clearly other teams will have had similar schedules and of course the 8 interstate clubs are on the road every second weekend, but they also are far more likely to have settled into that routine. Just an observation.
That struck me too and could potentially make us look worse than we are.

Luckily the travel calms down as of now. We still have the trips to Bellerive but every non first year player will be used to that. Next interstate away game is in ten weeks' time

A lot of players were poor and we have stated who it is, but the 3 players that disappointed me the most were Phillips, Powell and Corr. I have rated all 3 but that game I did think that maybe they aren’t any good. It actually hurts.

Yeah, if you take the “you’re only as good as your last game” approach. On the other hand, Corr is a proven good player. Will and Tom are young guys in a team that are doing it tough. Hopefully, things will turn around.

Turner and Howe have to go. I'd be inclined to drop Hall too, but he probably needs another chance to keep his spot. Ditto Corr, who has been underwhelming but is probably required against Melbourne. McKay has been terrible but has runs on the board. I don't mind the earlier suggestion of playing him at full forward as him, Larkey and Chom would keep Lever, May and Petty from peeling off.

Simpkin and Bonar in. Perhaps also Greenwood for one of Scott, CT or Phillips (depending upon which one Clarko wants to send a message to). Leave Shiels as sub.

What did Hall do? MacDonald is a disaster. He gives the ball away all the time .
