Hopefully we can keep the majority of these players into the future and for the league team and then the future might just be looking better.Battle of the unbeaten colts Perth giving the Tigers a flogging.
Jacob Whan from Sth Freo.So apart from Edwards, is there anyone in our NGA that's a chance this year?
FWIW i dont care about the NGA rules and not being able to match bids after 40. I think clubs can exploit it and get priority access to already good players rather than necessarily develop them. But ffs is it so hard to make one rule that applies to everyone.
Whan will be the one we go after from our NGA, he's playing all around the ground for South Freo at the moment but he'll be a real solid pillar of the WA defence in the U18 champs. Has the talent that makes matching a bid after 40 worth it, even if he isn't the most pressing need
Geez Hughes is 29? He's perpetually 25 in my mindActually think it’s the perfect time to bring him in tbh.
Hughes is 29 this year
Wilson is 30
Worner is both wing and HBF
Wagner I don’t really rate.
Our HBF depth isn’t as good as we think - Can’t see any of these guys except Worner having much chance of being on our list in 2025. Hughes is a remote chance but 2025 would be his last year you’d think.
far our I just assumed he was like 26/27. same age as tucker who was taken in the same draft.Geez Hughes is 29? He's perpetually 25 in my mind

Hughes was taken in 2014 as an overage rookie I believe.far our I just assumed he was like 26/27. same age as tucker who was taken in the same draft.
I really thought they were taken in the same year. Probably doesn't help that they look almost identical.Hughes was taken in 2014 as an overage rookie I believe.
Tucker was 2 years younger and taken in 2015 with pick 27
They'll both go Top 10, I'd argue for both of them to go Top 5 although that's not popular opinion yetIs there any chance of mckercher or sanders from TAS? Absolute guns
This is a great resource -Had a quick look the excellent spreadsheet created by Lore on the main board.
A sneaky benefit of Carlton being so s**t is that our picks and total points are getting better by the week. We have their R3 pick and it’s now at pick 42. To me an early third has currency (thanks Blake acres) while a later third starts to become pretty worthless given only 55 players are generally selected nowadays.PLAYERCARDSTART13Blake Acres

Right now we sit with
- pick 21 North PP in round 2
- pick 40 North PP in round 3
- pick 42 Carlton round 3 pick
- pick 58 North round 4 pick
I don’t expect Carlton to be that bad by the end of the season.
But I do think we can get ourselves into contention for GC pick if they finish up with pick 10.
Despite all the doom and gloom around our draft hand after the LJ trade it’s quite possible that we could get back into the late first round this year if there is a player we like in that range

Yeah we could look at pick 40, 42 and 58 for pick 28 and 68 from Gold Coast.I wouldn’t be against using the three later picks to get ourselves another top 30 pick tbh.
Before the draft starts draft picks are limited to available list spots but after the draft starts you can live trade in more points. Thinking Gold Coast load up in the second round so finding a selection they’d trade two picks in the 40s for might not be overly difficult.
